I still check out the show on On Demand, and some parts are OK. But it is a bit like going to visit a cherished older relative in a nursing home--you're still fond of them and treasure the memories, but you also see that they are a shadow of what they once were. Now, if Dwight's leaving too, NBC just really needs to let it go. Euthanize the poor thing and end the suffering. It's time.

I still love The Office. It's not nearly as good as it used to be. Not a huge fan of the "training in FL" and that annoying British chick.

Jim messing with Dwight is still the best thing in the show. Not a huge fan of Andy being the manager but it's bearable.

Jenna Fischer = sooooo hot want to touch the hiney

I tried watching 30 Rock again last night (re-run on Comedy Central) and I just don't find that show funny. I guess to me it feels like I am watching a long, drawn out SNL skit, which I have not found funny since, well, forever.

I watched the first 2 seasons of the office which were hilarious. About 2 or 3 episodes into season 3 I became disinterested. Some sit-coms have a very limited shelf life, especially when they resort to reusing bits in shows.

Oh, I definitely know all of those, but except for some 30 Rock bits they just don't do it for me. There's no accounting for taste, you know.

That's a good analogy. It does seem like a long SNL skit - and not the funny ones, the shrill, trying-too-hard ones. Tracy Morgan is not my idea of funny, either.

This new boss is unbearable. I will quit watching the Office if she sticks around. The California character is bad enough, this Nellie chick could only be worst if she was played by the Progressive Flo character.

The Office is renewed
Additionally, Deadline reports that The Office has been renewed for a ninth season after deals with Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski, and Ed Helms are close to being finalized. The show is facing a crossroads, as Mindy Kaling will be leaving to run her Fox pilot that was just picked up and Rainn Wilson will segue to his own Office spinoff midseason, taking The Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein with him. The quality of the show has waned considerably in the last few years, so it’ll be interesting to see if they plan on continuing past season nine. A replacement has not yet been named for Lieberstein, and negotiations with B.J. Novak have yet to begin.

I don't understand this at all. Kill the Office with fire already. And why, why, WHY would you cancel Parks and Rec?! That show is one of their best comedies, and has much more depth and intrigue than the Office. I don't get it.

It's just gotten so bizarre, really since Sabre took over. The Robert California plotline was beyond weird, and I'm glad to see him go. Next on the chopping block should be Nellie and Gabe. It's impossible to get this show back to what it was with Michael Scott, but that'd at least be a step in the right direction.

Gabe and Nellie are good, and I do like James Spader as an actor overall. He is gone based on the finale though, but Gabe and Nellie could still stick - though Nellie looks to be gone with Andy taking over. After Dwight leaves, the show could officially die. I like Wallace though too and am glad he is back.

Overall I still enjoy the show. Honestly, I feel Jim really pulls it all together, which is why I was upset, but not really, when Michae left.
