Paul Pierce is more thug than Ron Artest will ever be. Artest was just too stupid to know any better when somebody threw a cup at him. I would be shocked if somebody could prove to me that Paul Pierce wasn't legitimately in a gang.

No self respecting gang banger would ever do this:

If he was really in a gang they'd shoot him for being that much of a bitch. I'm pretty sure it's in their bylaws.

And in the interest of not throwing off the delicate balance you fine gentlemen have achieved, fuck both these teams.

Fuck the NBA

I lost interest in that shit two months ago, they drag on the playoffs so long its fucking ridiculous, I honestly haven't watched a single minute of a single finals game, I hope the ratings are terrible, the entire league is garbage

I find it fascinating that people hate a league so much that they waste their time commenting on how much they hate it.

I had a friend today arguing about why he won't be watching soccer. Fine, but why spend the time complaining about something you aren't interested in?

there hadn't been an update in the big ten expansion thread in almost five minutes, what else was I supposed to do?

I am curious to hear exactly how much time you think I spent putting that together, my estimate is a good 30 to 45 seconds

Game five in Boston. Technically, not a must win for the Celtics - they're going back to LA either way - but in all practicality they have to win it to have a real shot at taking the series. Having to win games six AND seven in LA would be a monumental task.

Celtics take game five, 92-86, to go up 3-2 in the series. All that means is they're back on serve, with two games scheduled in LA to settle it. :)

Unrelated to game action, but I've gotta get this off my chest.

In the intro for the Finals, ABC/ESPN shows clips of past basketball greats and teams. That's fine, I'm all for history.

But on Michael Jordan's hand-switching move against the Lakers, where Marv Alberts called it "a spectacular move", they changed the path of the ball for their video for some strange reason. MJ banked it in using his left hand, and the Finals intro video was edited to look like the ball swished without hitting the board.

Such egregious alteration of history while trying to honor history just pisses me off. Those bastards have no shame.

The Celts bear little resemblance to the outstanding teams populated by stars like Dave Cowens, John Havlicek, Bill Russell, Bob Cousy, Sam Jones, KC Jones, DJ, Larry Bird, and Robert Parrish.

Similarly, the Lakers have no right to compare themselves to past teams that included the great Walt Hazzard, Kareem, Silk Wilkes, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Bill Walton, and Gail Goodrich.

The next great team is the Cavaliers, coached by an actual competent NBA head coach (Gregg Popovich, do you hear me?) and led on the court by King James. Screw these whiny pretenders.

Walton played for the Lakers? Thought he played (seldom) for the Blazers.
