so let me get this straight...pierce is a bitch because he heard his knee pop and then fought through the pain to come back and play? ok....love the logic there...and lets get down to the nitty gritty with the lakers...seems a lot of people are ignoring the fact that they are an average defensive team...everything I hear is about shots not falling and the rims...not the fact that they have to play much better defense in order to win this series...

I would question any grown man I saw acting like that one minute, having to be carried off by 4 guys and running back out 10 minutes later.

Pierce is a complete bitch and I feel 100% comfortable saying that after what I saw with my own two eyes. It has nothing to do with media spin.

i guess he was a bitch when he was stabbed 11 times and never missed a game...or the fact he played the entire cleveland series on a sprained ankle..

Eh, no grown man needs to be helped up off the floor by two people, but that's what teammates do. Boston has been big on that shit this year, I think because of KG. Like when Rondo went down against the Cavs and started to get up on his own, KG and PP yelled at him to stay down and they ran over to help him up. I guess Rondo's a bitch for that too? It's the Celtics team mentality. I really think that's why they carried him, they're there for him, and it also explains PP's embarrassment to being carried. They just took it a little too far.

The Pierce thing, meh... if anything, the only way it effected the game was the Lakers reaction of lettting off the throttle and thinking the game was suddenly going to be easy. The Media is blowing it all to shit, if had happened versus Atlanta there would be nothing said of it, so bleh.

As for the Lakers problems, Rebounding is a big issue, like I said in a previous post everytime someone shot they got away from the basket, so they got slaughtered on the boards. Also, the first half and second half were two totally different games. In the first half there were 10 assists on the first 16 shots, the second half people were tossing up shots without even looking for the open man. The Celtics are going to throw 2-3 people at Kobe every time he touches the ball, that was evident when he was at the three point line, wide open, and three celtics came running at him leaving Gasol wide open under the basket, they need to use this more to create open shots for other players rather than Kobe trying to be the scorer.

I don't think that's an excuse for why we lost, I think it's an observation from the first half to the second half.

Agreed full heartedly. That was a bitch move on Kobe's part. I'm not a Lakers fan FWIW.

With that said, doesn't change the fact that Pierce's reaction was ridiculously overblown and obviously him acting.

in addition...the lakers have to play better defense...boston scored 98 points..if boston can score 98 points a game in this series it will be tough for LA to win

That still doesn't explain his writhing agony and crying over what was only a sprained knee. Like I said, he very well could have been scared, but it still doesn't explain his reaction to what happened.

oh i hope it was overblown because boston needs pierce to win this series...without him they are in trouble......i hope he was acting because they need him close to 100 percent in order to win....i think pierce heard a pop...freaked out and got taken off....when he got into the back he realized it wasn't as bad as it seemed on the court and came back because he knew he had to play for boston to have a chance....and it really is no different than rip hamilton writhing in pain in game 5 vs boston..he was helped off...left boston in a sling...came out the next game and still scored 20 plus and looked perfect...or kobe vs utah on the ground for extended time periods grabbing his back...i honestly think pierce felt he blew his knee out on the court

If that's all that happened, I wouldn't be calling him a bitch. His acting over a non-injury makes him a HUGE bitch in my eyes.

I agree, there's a lot of adjustments that need to be made. We'll see what happens game two, but there was just a lot of defensive missed assignments, especially when it came to Garnett. In the first half he was left wide open on quite a few occasions.

To me though, the big killer was the rebounds, look, if they clean up half of those boards this game is a lot closer and who knows what the outcome would be, but giving Boston second chances and not getting second chances ourselves isn't going to work, no team shoots 100%, and you can't just rely on your offense against a team with Bostons defense.

well the only way we will know is by how he plays in game 2...and honestly..i could careless...and i think pierce could careless....this maybe his only shot to win the title and winning in game 2 would be a huge step

To each his own but he wouldn't be saying he was embarrassed about it if he didn't know he acted poorly. Players get hurt all the time in pro sports, his antics and susequent "recovery" stand out.

If I saw a player from a team I like act like that I would be embarrassed. I didn't defend Robert Reynolds one iota after he embarrassed my favorite team and I would not defend Pierce if I were a Celtics fan.

My last thought on the topic is one simple work. Karma. He may not get a chance to act next time. I personally won't be there to see it because like I said, I can't watch a sport where people act like that. That goes for Kobe's back spasms, Jordans flu game or any other prima donna's. I think all NBA players are cunts, Pierce should just be the union leader after that performance.
