NBA Finals - Celtics vs. Lakers

I agree, there's a lot of adjustments that need to be made. We'll see what happens game two, but there was just a lot of defensive missed assignments, especially when it came to Garnett. In the first half he was left wide open on quite a few occasions.

To me though, the big killer was the rebounds, look, if they clean up half of those boards this game is a lot closer and who knows what the outcome would be, but giving Boston second chances and not getting second chances ourselves isn't going to work, no team shoots 100%, and you can't just rely on your offense against a team with Bostons defense.

agree with you 100 percent on this....the lakers have been very good getting the second shot and sticking it back for an easy two...gasol has made a living on this since getting to LA...i am just saying that boston played 2 really good and physical defenses in cleveland and detroit...i think those series and the experiences will pay off against the lakers...and really..defense is not the lakers MO...it is their offense they hang their hats on

To each his own but he wouldn't be saying he was embarrassed about it if he didn't know he acted poorly. Players get hurt all the time in pro sports, his antics and susequent "recovery" stand out.

If I saw a player from a team I like act like that I would be embarrassed. I didn't defend Robert Reynolds one iota after he embarrassed my favorite team and I would not defend Pierce if I were a Celtics fan.

My last thought on the topic is one simple work. Karma. He may not get a chance to act next time. I personally won't be there to see it because like I said, I can't watch a sport where people act like that. That goes for Kobe's back spasms, Jordans flu game or any other prima donna's. I think all NBA players are cunts, Pierce should just be the union leader after that performance.

sorry but baseball players are the biggest pusses in the business..they miss games for the dumbest reasons

Agreed full heartedly. That was a bitch move on Kobe's part. I'm not a Lakers fan FWIW.

With that said, doesn't change the fact that Pierce's reaction was ridiculously overblown and obviously him acting.

Cavs fan?

I'm saying it was his teammates over reacting. It's not like someone tried to help him up and he screamed "NO, IT'S GONNA TAKE FOUR GUYS"!

What PP did would be the equivilant of a batter getting drilled by a pitcher, rolling on the ground like he'd been shot for 10 minutes, being carried down to first base by 4 teammates.....and then stealing second.

Sheesh, I can't believe the Pierce thing has almost 2 pages to it...

Was he hurt? Dunno
Did he overreact? Dunno
Did it add drama to the series? Yes.
Did David Stern blow a load the size of a small country? Yes.

I don't know, nor do I really care, what the circumstances leading up to this or around this were, the guy will probably play tomorrow, and if he's slow or hobbling around, well, then people will have their answer. FWIW, all it did was give the Celtics fans some energy and an extended time out for Boston, otherwise, the effect on the game was minimal. I don't think that makes the guy a "bitch" hell, if my legs were worth 13+ Million a year I'd probably over react everytime I stubbed my damned toe. "Aaah crap, ingrown toenail, I am gonna need 6 guys to carry me to the doctor" actually fuck that, if my legs were worth that much I would have people carrying me around, I'd only be on my legs when I was practicing. (I'd also refer to everyone I knew as a minion, but I am also a little out there)

The thing is, if you don't like the players, don't like the product, then why bother discussing it? All you are doing is promoting it, if you think all these players are "bitches" then just ignore the product. Hell, we've been doing that with Soccer for years and it's barely a discussion topic, no one sits and goes for three pages about what they hate about it, because to do that, you'd have to watch it. Baseball players can be just as whiney, football players can be just as bitchy, and for every tough guy in a sport, there's a tougher guy in a different one. This isn't Hockey, it's basketball.

Bottom line is Paul pIerce is an actor.......he gets knicked in the face and acts like he's been punched.

Her gets fouled hard, and he lays in the crowd and acts like he's about to die.

Whenever he has a pick set for him, with the ball in his hands, he acts like the defnder who hedges on the screen has blasted him 5 yards backwards.

That's just the way he plays.

I've learned to laugh at it.

True story: I watched the game with my brother and told him I didn't give a shit who won the series b/c I hate them both. Growing up in Rhode Island, he was a little disappointed I wasn't pulling for Boston. I told him a hated Bostons' fans and hate that drama queen Paul Pierce. Paul didn't disappoint me.
