I cannot believe I missed this thread yesterday. I'm so sorry to hear your news. Like so many on here have said, stay strong. Losing a parent isn't easy, but he won't be suffering anymore. Cherish the memories.

I think that is beautiful - it gave me the chills.

I remember my mom saying she was "done" and that she had finished raising me and that she was therefore ready to go.

Your dad obviously did a good job and if he is ready to go, or if he sticks around, just knowing that you feel lucky to have had him is probably all that he'll ever need.

We are all thinking of you and your father, and if there is anything we could do, we would.
