Thread Hijack Commences....

So, I might be following BuckBackHome's good example and getting my fat ass back south of the border....

I've got a job offer in Cleveland, but the pay's ridiculously low (as in, less than I'd be making if I'd never gone to grad school). I'm hoping to get it up to reasonable levels and come home, you know?

...so, uh... send some good karma my way, huh?

I'll be moving back to the big O this June. Coming from small town SC back to CBus. VERY EXCITED INDEED! Now...have to figure out if I want to keep teaching, or use my bilingual skills to help me make more for a couple of years and pay off some bills/loans.

Update: I accepted a verbal offer today. Pay's shitty to start, but they tell me that once I'm into my full responsibilities, that's going to come up. We're all clear on the fact that if it doesn't come up enough, I'm out--and that's exactly what they don't want.

So, in other words, it's a gamble, but hopefully a good one.

Looks like Vpr's coming home, folks.

Nice pix. It's incredibly hard to find a picture that actually makes that shitty city look even presentable. Cleveland has to be one of the few that might actually be worse than Shittsburgh.

You have my sympathy. Can't imagine there is a worse big city than Cleveland.
