Most Underrated Buckeye?

Bumping an old thread because watching what Boom meant to this team today made me think of this subject.

While Boom would certainly be up there, I'd throw my vote towards Antonio Pittman. Week after week all he did was gain a hundred yards. He also ripped off big runs in big games (ND-Fiesta Bowl, vs. scUM more than once), yet few talk about him. He was awesome, wish we could've had him and Beanie together in '07.

Simon. I really look forward to having him, Hankins, Bennett and Bellamy/goebel together for the next 18 games.

And at the risk of jinxing him, Basil has started to get in a groove. He's not at nugent's level, but even mike struggled in his first year.

Agree on Pittman being most underrated. I was hoping he would win the Heisman his senior year, but he went pro. Oh well. He is among my top 10 favorite buckeyes of all time!

On this team, I'd say John Simon gets overlooked by many. He's a man and takes no plays off. No where near the amount of god given size that Hank has but way better motor. I saw Hank taking plays off late in the game because he was so tired. Early in the game, Hank was just a complete MONSTER but Simon has been a stud on every single play that he's been in the game throughout the entire season. Kid has heart.

Boom. 5 rushing touchdowns away from 4th place in Ohio State history, could end up being in the top 10 in all time rushing yardage. This season, The Buckeyes struggle without him, then he comes back and leads you to victory over a previously undefeated conference opponent.

I could go on & on, but all this for a guy that was "never supposed to see the field" at Ohio State...
