So... other than Jack?

Screw it...

Some of my Favorites...

Curtis LeMay- Liked to bomb stuff.

Harlan Hatcher- President of scUM (once again, No "Michigan Men" that were gonna work out, see Bo Schembechler)

Patricia Heaton- well not really, just her cans.

Now do you mean fame or impact? They are not the same questions.

For fame, probably Jack. For impact? Hmmmm. First guy who came to mind is Les Wexner. Aside from the money hes given OSU - look at some of the stores his conglomerate controls or spun off -

Victorias Secret
Bath and Body Works
Express
Lane Bryant
Abercrombie and Fitch
Lerner
The Limited
Henri Bendel

Chances are every person here has either shopped at one of these stores or has been shopped for in one of these stores. No many others you can say something like that about.

Jesse Owens as the athelete alumnus candidate. History making stuff literally of Olympian proportions - 4 gold medal feat heard and rightly respected around the world.

On the scientific side I'll give the nod to Paul Flory - one word - plastics.

In the field of literature or the various arts the nod has to go to sci-fi writer Harlan Ellison - who did not graduate, in fact he was expelled.

Certainly Jack or Jesse for athletes. Wexner? For wealth and impact on Columbus, sure. Who knows where The Limited will be in 50 years.

My choice though is Lichtenstein. In a hundred years, he'll still be studied, and his paintings will still be hanging in the world's most prestigious museums.

Second would be Charles Csuri (alumnus and faculty). He invented computer animation and art. Without him, Pixar doesn't exist.

My darkhorse is Judah Folkman (Harvard cancer researcher). Newsweek called him "the single person on the planet closest to curing cancer." If that happens, it's a no-brainer.

I'd say Jack Tatum has the most "impact".

More seriously, Max Fisher's got to be up there, although he's not necessarily "famous" to most people.

Of the athletes, Jerry Lucas doesn't get as much respect as he deserves, especially given his memory education work: I wonder how many people have used his techniques to be more successful/productive . . .
