More Donny BS (Merged all of the garbage)

Comparing this board to Bucknuts is absurd for this reason: Any pressure that you will ever feel on this board is community driven. At Bucknuts you either pay a fee or you are a lower class fan. At BN I feel like a puppy begging for scraps to fall from it's master's table. I realize they have a business to run, but they've taken something pure and distorted it to an extent...leaving out the very people the site was originally intended to be for. Here, you have no pop-ups, no ads, no required fees and every penny you give DIRECTLY benefits you. Not a single bit of pressure has come from the top (Clarity), but it all comes from the community.

We are banding together, not to exclude anyone or to seperate posters into "classes", but to make sure that we can reach more people who CAN'T give. We have encouraged everyone to sacrifice of themselves. For some people, $5 is the same sacrifice that $500 is for another person. Everyday we all have invested time, knowledge and effort into posting on this board. We've put our collective passion into everything this board represents. Some will say it is hypocritical to live in a free community and press for donations...I say it is hypocritical to claim to be part of a community who's investment you refuse to support (if able).

I will admit the whole premise of this thread really made me uneasy, as I'm sure it did many others. I don't want to speak for Clarity, but I would think he may even be disturbed by the thought of an entire thread being devoted to calling a poster out on donations. I do think, however, that it was all in good natured fun and not something to get too worked up over.

Like Grad said, no one has been treated differently based on their decision to give or not...I assume anyone who hasn't given has a legitimate reason not to. As for the content of the site, the community governs what doesn't effect the recruiting. The mods have done a good job being consistent and not abusing power they have. If you can recall any thread where you have felt discriminated against based on your decision to (or not to) donate, I'm sure a PM would quickly remedy the situation.

To make this clear. I never mentioned Clarity's name for a reason. He has been nothing but respectful of everyone's decision to give or not to give. I personally thought that the mass PM was a good idea, and should've been enough to reach the masses, and let them know what the situation was.

I'll admit that the Bnuts comparison was over the top. It is no where near that blatant, and I don't feel that I have personally been discriminated against. I also didn't intend any offense towards any of the mods, although that's definitely what the result was. My major annoyance has come from reading posts that had nothing to do with this topic, and seeing tibor being shit on for being the ass that he is, and not even giving a dime to this site. Would he be just as big of an ass if he had contributed something? I would guess so, but that doesn't really have anything to do with him giving back to this community now does it?

The reference to Thump was because he was thrown in as Donny's alter ego, or vice versa. Like I said before. It's none of my business whether he has given or not.

I like the idea of a fund raiser as opposed to forcing people to pay premium money for memberships. The fundraiser, in and of itself, has not bothered me. I would like for this server upgrade to happen just as much as any other member on this board would. What has bothered me is what I mentioned before. I think that the people that haven't read the "official" thread probably got the message when the PM came out. It's not necessary to include it in other areas.

As for the original intention of this thread being a joke. As much as I enjoy reading exhawg's posts. It seems to me that, in this case, he's just playing the bully and picking an easy target in Donny. People following up with, why doesn't Donny just ignore certain users is absurd. If it were a case of some of the raging flamers that we've had on this board, that might be viable. But, for the most part, exhawg actually has something to say when it comes to other aspects of this board. Why should Donny be asked to censor out everything just because he tried defending himself in a thread that was attacking him, or more accurately calling him out?

Because next to Tibor and Mili, these two banter back and forth more than anyone else on the board. Donny plays along sometimes, baits Hawg on occasion, and plays a victim sometimes...my easy solution to anyone asking for assistance in "bullying" is to ignore the person. This is not to say Hawg is a very cordial person to Donny or that a number of others are very nice. However, I would say that much of this is a joke or at least done with humor in mind. When Donny gets pissed off or his games backfire, it is not my place or any Mod/Admin's place to protect him. He has tools to do that. Trust me, I don't mind Donny at all...besides his occasional pot stirring.

I read something every day that makes me squirm...but that is not my issue to edit. We do not censor/edit/delete around here unless it involves damage to tOSU recruiting or actual physical threats.

If you feel the need to bash others on this or any other board, perhaps you need to make a self examination of your motives. I realize that people's posting style is different, but I try to get along with everyone. I don't mind kidding around, I am the first to admit that I don't post seriously on the boards, but when catch junk from the same person or persons over and over, it gets old.

You are correct...which is why I have asked you and others numerous times to use the ignore feature.

I can't comprehend why this is such an issue...if these people cause you such stress, take them out of the equation. Otherwise, I am led to believe you enjoy the feuding, pissing, and moaning.

Donny is just an attention whore and likes to pretend that he is hurt by the bullying. If I had to guess I would say the whole thing is a big act to get a response out of people like me, which so far has worked. Here is the way that I see it.
-Donny said that he was going to donate to the new server back on 2/1
-He wanted to be reminded when the donations were being taken
-The sever drive has been going for a while and donny has not yet donated like he said he would
-I created this thread A. to remind donny like he wanted B. to spread the word to more people. Any publicity is good publicity.

exhawg, YOU STARTED THIS THREAD ABOUT ME, I am certainly not looking for this kind of attention.

As far as donations go, you really don't care about my donation, you are simply looking for something to give me a hard time about.

Concerning the ignore feature, I have given it some thought, my primary reservation about using the ignore feature is that I don't want to give certain posters free reign to post things which are not always entirely accurate.
