I called out donny because that's what I do. IMO any thread that trys to drum up support for the server drive is a good thing. If donny says that he is going to donate that's fine (I guess). I just don't understand why he doesn't want credit for it. Personally I have more respect for the people who believe in this site enough to donate (have medals), but that's just what I think.

I appreciate your thoughts. Some posters on this site (there only a few), get a kick out of this sort of thing. That is O.K. I think it shows more about who they are, rather than me. I fully understand the need to improve the server here and I hope the fundraiser goes well.

With that said, if this site gets to the point that it cannot meet it's financial obligations without trying to publicly embarrass it's members in order to receive a donation, (although I don't think exhawg is acting in an official capacity), it may have to go "premium." This site certainly can "hold it's own" with any site I have ever visited. The only downside of this site, in my opinion, is that it allows people to attack one another almost unchecked, but I can live with it for the most part.

Once again for those who have not learned it....

1) Click User CP in the top toolbar

2) Locate Buddy/Ignore list in left toolbar....click

3) Type in name of poster you desire to ignore (ex. Exhawg)....click update

4) Site retains philosophy of "User responsible for own words unless it could hurt tOSU."

As much as I enjoy a good joke, with Donny as the punch line, this thread is incredibly out of line. Fact is. Until Donny replied to this thread. You really didn't have any idea of whether he had donated or not, and it is still none of your business whether he has or will donate.

My original idea was to wait for my tax return to arrive, and see what I could give, but the constant harping and begging has to stop. Yes there are a lot of people on here that take and don't give anything back. Up until the t-shirt drive, I was one of those people. But, that's not a reason to continue to drop hints at every opportunity, that it would be a great idea if you donated money for a new server, in the middle of a football or basketball, or even an open discussion thread. Mods constantly feel the need to remind other members to use the search function before starting a new thread, and rightly so. It is also frowned upon to inject politically charged comments outside of the political forum. Why is it OK to continue to take this subject outside of the multiple threads, and pm(s)?

The simple fact that this thread has started another fund raiser thread is bad enough. But the fact that individuals are now being targeted for not giving is inexcusable. I don't give a damn if tibor, Donny, or Thump haven't given one red cent. It's none of my business, and it's none of yours. People want to bitch about Bnuts taking the side of premium users when it comes down to a dispute between members? That seems very hypocritical to me now.

I agree with your sentiments, IronBuck, but I don't want that statement to suggest to others that Thump hasn't given. How he got tossed into that group is odd to me. This shows on Thump's profile, indicating that he recently sent a donation, and I'm doing this so he doesn't have to decide whether he should defend himself, which could make him sanctimonious:

Well IB, I'm sorry to see that this Fundraiser has bothered you so much....and I honestly mean that with no veiled sarcasm.

I took this thread as a joke that has morphed into something more. Is it fair to Donny? Probably not...but as explained before, each member is responsible for their own words.

Your assertion of a "constant harping and begging" is saturated in hyperbole...but again, it is your opinion and you are entitled to that. However, I see one "official" thread from the site. Everything else is usually a community member rallying troops in the middle of a fundraiser. This is a crucial time for this site and many people understand that. The drive ends 5/1 so you will not have to hear our harping and begging for much longer.

Your comparison to Bucknuts and Premium members is laughable at best. I challenge you to find ONE thread or post where favoritism is shown. Feel free. I'm assuming you will instantly point to this thread...that's fine. I would direct you to the "Wedding Picture" thread where I gave the same speech of "responsiblity for one's words." Tibor was the culprit and IAMBRUTUS is the supposed "victim." Guess which one has donated thus far? If there was preferential treatment, Tibor would have been censored. Your insinuation of favoritism is insulting to me.

As stated at the beginning of this thing, if you feel the need to donate...great. If not...fine. No hard feelings at all.
