MLB General Discussion (Official Thread)

I had never heard of "The Stone Crabs" before, but I just Googled their cap insignia and am disappointed. I like wearing caps of obscure minor/amateur league teams and would have proudly added a Stone Crab to my Orem Owlz, Richmond River Rats, and San Diego Padres selection for this summer, but alas, the Stone Crab logo is pretty weak.
Don't you have a Carolina Mudcats lid?

The Tampa Bay Rays have suspended Josh Sale, their 2010 first-round pick, for conduct detrimental to the organization, the team announced Wednesday.

Sale was banned after boasting on Facebook about acting unruly at a strip club, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

"Threw 50 cents at a stripper tonight. First time. Got kicked out and she got so (mad) thought she was gonna cry. Your a stripper. Be thankful," Sale posted.

Sale just finished serving a 50-game suspension after testing positive for methamphetamine and an amphetamine. He recently was added to the roster of the Class-A Charlotte Stone Crabs.

In two seasons in the Tampa Bay organization, Sale has hit .238 with 14 homers and 59 RBIs in 134 games.

reminds me of a stripper story.

was at the titty palace.

a girl i used to bang was working on stage. skinny dirty blonde girl with big [censored]. american indian girl. used to bang her older sister too but that is a different story.

three dudes were throwing change up stage and kind of at her. they were drunk and just having a good time but the chick was not. no idea why she didn't just walk away and leave the stage but whatever.

now i am not a bouncer but enjoy a little action from time to time.

got up and went to the dudes and told them they can't throw change at the girls and they had to go.

they ask me who the [censored] am i to kick them out and i told them nobody but they still gotta go.

scene starts developing and the bouncer comes over and asks what's going on. i tell him.

he tells me i can't kick people out of the bar. i tell him, no you can kick me out for doing this but i am damn well kicking these three dudes out of here before i go. a little bit of yelling goes on. bouncer goes back to the door and wants none. i am a better customer anyway and he shouldn't have been letting them treat the girls like that.

so the bouncer is back at the door and i got free reign at this point. i tell the dudes they gotta go. they finish their beers and took off. mouthed off a little about [censored] this [Mark May] and bad mouthed the girls on the way out, but they left without further incident.

went back to my table and got nearly suffocated in free [censored] and ass the rest of the night. not many people stick up for the strippers sadly. i always try to. treat ladies better than they expect and you get pussy better than you deserve i figure.

I don't know how accurate it is since things are chaotic right now, but there are reports of fans being trapped under debris at Busch Stadium due to a nearby Tornado. :(

EDIT: apparently that came from a news station in Atlanta (?!?!) and it appears to be completely inaccurate.

Biogenesis scandal set to boil over
We could be on the verge of the biggest drug bust in sports history

Since the day in January when the name "Biogenesis" first appeared in the vocabulary of baseball, we've been waiting for this news, this story, this headline:

BASEBALL SEEKS TO SUSPEND (FILL IN THE NAME)

Well, now we can fill in those blanks, can't we? With the names of Alex Rodriguez and Ryan Braun, just for starters. But that's not all. The only reason to stop at those two names is that the rest won't fit in a single headline.

What ESPN's T.J. Quinn, Mike Fish and Pedro Gomez are reporting is the list of players who face possible suspensions is actually much longer than the dynamic duo of Braun and A-Rod.

And if you believe the rumor mill, Braun and A-Rod might not even be the biggest names on that list. But we're getting way ahead of ourselves on that front.

This could really damage A-Rod's popularity ...

As a Brewers fan, this is really disappointing to keep having Braun's name come up in connection with this shit.

But the MLB better be careful here. They're getting into bed with a bad dude to get dirt on their own players. Bosch is broke, desperate and fearing litigation. MLB sues him, and he agrees to cooperate, perhaps for "immunity". They're going all in on this, and they might want to be sure they can make it stick.

If it wasn't for the chain of custody defense they had his ass dead to rights the last time.

If he beats the rap he beats it but lets not confuse getting off on a technicality with exoneration.

His testosterone levels were sky high now that is either because A) he took a PED or B) the lab tech had an axe to grind and doctored the results

I'm going with A but I'm a cynical bastard so tifwiw.

I think he's guilty too, but I was just talking about the entire group of players in general. Bud is wading into some deep shit here.
