It is not a sport.

sport

/spɔrt, spoʊrt/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [spawrt, spohrt] Show IPA ?noun 1.an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc.

It most definitely is. If Boxing is, and wrestling is, the a sport that combines the 2 is as well.....

It's two guys beating eachother up on a stage in view of spectators. I'm not saying that it isn't competitive, It takes a lot of guts to go toe to toe / no holds barred with someone. But to me, a sport is more defined by the rules we put in place, and not just pure, unfiltered aggression.

Perhaps in the early days of no holds barred fighting that is true, but it is far from that now. It is the reason why Tank Abbot gets fucking destroyed.

 It's FAR from "pure, unfiltered aggression". For fucks sake, there are multiple world champion martial artists competing. Taekwondoe is an Olympic sport.
