 Laughable he knocks anyones ground game.

Go do another guest spot on Entourage.

Chuck is just a straight up hater.

There is a difference between lacking a ground game and understanding where you're tactical advantage is. Chuck has an excellent ground game, but chooses to stand, and is good enough at both to dictate where the fight takes place.

A Kimbo Liddell fight isn't going to happen anytime in the near future. So, point being that Dayton is making... mind your business and do your own thing. What does Chuck Liddell care so much about Kimbo for? It's entertainment and Kimbo has brand. A street brand that makes him the "Streets Champion". Love him or hate him he has more marketability then 90% of MMA fighters. So if he attracts more people to the sport and sells more advertising space and tickets... then Liddell should thank him, instead of hating on him.

so when a reporter asks chuck how he feels he should just lie about it? he was being honest and answered the question. i think the a lot of the current big time MMA fighters feel the same way. Kimbo is a "star" that really hasn't proven anything yet.

He's proven he can stir things up and create hype... and he hasn't lost yet, so I'd say he's doing pretty good... regardless of who he's beaten thus far. Good enough to be CBS's poster boy for their new prime time slot.

color me impressed when he beats someone that isn't currently an AARP member. he might end up being great, but i just think there is too much hype and superstar around him for having not really proven much yet. he has the raw talent and power to become a superstar, but he isn't there yet.

it could be that he simply feels others deserve the attention a lot more but likely will never get it. i recall nick diaz being rather pissy about all the attention the original ufc series fighters got after the series had aired. his point was that these guys really hadn't achieved anything. yet those who had earned their way on their own and their fair share of the hype, weren't getting any because they weren't on a tv show. to a certain degree he has a legit point. from that point of view so does lidell. but then at the end of the day kimbo is a recognizable brand name that is marketable. doesn't mean he should be, simply means he is and people will ride that payday for as long as it will carry them.

i don't have a problem with lidell's comments. but the way he seems to think it should work unfortunately isn't reality.

For those who didn't watch the Fight Night on Spike the other day, a good young fighter, Anthony "Rumble" Johnson, with an impressive ass beating:

People don't know what to make of him because he is so different, that is why he is popular. Creating hype means you have something to live up to, Kimbo fighting a nobody time after time will get old soon. I will judge Kimbo the fighter when he actually beats someone, he is 0-0 in my eyes. Ray Mercer and Tank Abbott as your W's doesn't impress anyone in the MMA world, nor should it.

Actualy hype can mean excitement, which is what he does... a modern day Clubber Lang if you ask me, the guy you either love to hate or the one that the "hip-hop" culture loves.

And he certainly does have something to live up to... all those knock outs of goons. Were they stiffs? Or were they street certified?

It's a different world... Kimbo was behind on some training, but he's busting his ass everyday to catch up.... that dude is as tough as steele and has ZERO fear. It's like pro ball and street ball. Guys like Llyod Daniels and Rafer Alston can run it with the pros... but they lack the mechanics of an organized game.

I can tell you that this Kimbo would clobber the Kimbo that "lost" to Gannon. So we'll find out soon enough.... but as of now you can't fault what you haven't seen. And so far every match that he's had pro or amature has ended in under 2 mins...besides the Gannon one.

Rejuvenated McCarthy looks to choke out Bisping at UFC 83

We haven't seen Charles McCarthy perform inside the Octagon since Nov. 11, 2006.

On that night, McCarthy fought through the pain of a severe knee injury -- which turned out to be complete tears of the ACL, LCL and meniscus -- to submit Gideon Ray with an armbar at the finale of The Ultimate Fighter 4.

While McCarthy was on the road to recovery, his life improved dramatically. McCarthy and wife Elisa welcomed their first child, Zachary, to the world. He opened his own MMA and self-defense training facility in Boca Raton, Fla., which has enjoyed a steep rise in membership.

Contd...

Liddell Off UFC 85, Irvin Could Fight Evans

Chuck Liddell has fallen off UFC's June 7 card in London, England, due to a badly torn hamstring, Sherdog.com confirmed Monday.

The 38-year-old Liddell (21-5) was set to fight Rashad Evans, himself a replacement for Mauricio Rua, at O2 Arena in the main event of UFC 85.

Multiple sources tell Sherdog.com that Sacramento, Calif.-based light heavyweight James Irvin could be the man to fill Liddell's large shoes, though the bout with Evans (11-0-1) has not been filled at this point.

Irvin (14-4-1) would make a quick turnaround following an eight-second knockout of Houston Alexander on April 2.
