there's a joke about Pedo St and nuts in there somewhere....Bo Nickal… hooooly fuck. Outstanding
EDIT: he kneed Pickett’s in the nuts which resulted in the takedown that ended the fight, Pickett’s team is appealing
Izzy was in real danger in that fight, which was an incredible fight. Izzy's leg was in the process of being compromised and he took a couple hard shots earlier in that round, but that MFer was willing to die in order to execute his offense, which he did. Really, really high level stuff - he took huge risks and he was rewarded.I made some nice coin on Izzy KO and Round 1 or 2 win bets.
He had lost head to head but was still a fave…hmm.
I’m going to lean with that while people get suckered into the “underdog” +money guy who was 3-0 (1-0 in UFC) vs Adensaya. They wanted people chasing that. Seemed like a way to draw in people. I’m no MMA expert but it worked out.
Sam Hubbard was there with them too! Some exciting fisticuffs last night. Joey Burrow and the Bosa brothers were highlighted sitting together in attendance.

Yes, that was very dissapointing. It seems to me that fighting 3 times in 4 months at that high level of opponent is not ideal in this sport. Really wish the UFC would have some of their dormant talent fight more often than throwing Burns out there so often. In this sport, there's no way you don't get hurt fighting that often and not having any time to rest and heal.Burns looked hurt in the Belal fight. Sucks. Was a totally different fighter out there, and the fight wasn’t close.
The judges' scorecards are really interesting for this fight. Aljo takes rounds 1 and 4 on all 3 judges' scorecards (clearest rounds to score so that makes sense). For rounds 2, 3 and 5, Cejudo wins those rounds on 2 of the 3 judges' scorecards, but the math was such that Aljo took the overall nod on 2 of those judges' scorecards. FWIW, I had Cejudo in rounds 2, 3 and 5, and therefore the winner. Super close fight, but I thought Cejudo's "significant" strikes were much more significant, and he had Aljo staggered on several occasions, forcing Aljo to desperation wrestle. Did not think Cejudo looked hurt by any strike (I'm not talking about cuts or bruises but rather cognitive impairment or broken ribs type stuff - some guys just don't cut or bruise easily e.g. Anderson Silva and Aljo). It comes down to whether you value lower impact volume striking versus lower volume power strikes. The wrestling, and what they did with it, looked pretty equal (Aljo had 1 more takedown, Cejudo had just over a minute more of control time).Overall this card was pretty boring
Aljo beat Cejudo but it was as close as it gets. I actually thought it could have been a draw. I don’t know if I could say either one of them won.
