Anytime the lyrics are "the sky", it sounds like "this guy".
Metallica: "Take a look to this guy just before you die..."
Hendrix: "Excuse me, while I kiss this guy..."

Works the other way, too.

"They say....the sky.....the sky's in love with you......"

You got the last part wrong: "Hail, hail to Michigan the cesspool of the world!"

Got a good one for you guys. I love this song, but to be honest I can listen to it, and it sounds exactly like this guy translated it as. Enjoy:

While I'm entirely guilty of constantly making up my own lyrics, I can't think of one song where I've done it myself...I've got a story about my buddy's gf though.

We were playing Rock Band one night. I was set to play the drums, which I don't usually do, my buddy on guitar and his gf singing. The song: Rush - Tom Sawyer. About a minute into the song, instead of singing "The River!" my buddy's gf belts out "Joan Rivers!"

We were laughing so hard we failed out approximately 10 seconds later.

The Wife is the Queen of this.

Actual: "I wish I was in the land of cotton, old times there are not forgotten..."

Heard: "I wish I was in the land of cotton, old folks there are not forgotten..."

:shake:

Written by an Ohioan for a minstrel show, by the way.

An Ohioan wrote "Dixieland?" Blasphemous!
