Could be going to ND despite not being able to get into OSU due to an academic issue:

Quote of note from that article:

Yeah, the details are sketchy here, but it doesn't look like he would get in right away. What I'm hearing is he would have to go to Holy Cross first and have a good semester or two before he would be eligible to transfer through the "Gateway" program. The Gateway program supposedly allows kids at Holy Cross with good grades and strong ties to ND to make the transfer once their academics are in order. Miro Jr. certainly would qualify for the family ties to ND. His dad played on the '88 Championship team and was a part of the broadcasting team that did the post game radio show after ND home games before he passed away.

Saw this information as well:

Mirko Jurkovic Jr. may come home.
According to multiple sources, Notre Dame is evaluating the Irish legacy and one-time Ohio State signee, who did not enroll in Columbus this summer due to a reported academic issue. Notre Dame’s interest in Jurkovic is advanced enough that he’s attempted to improve his test scores for admission.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive lineman is the son of former Irish All-American offensive lineman Mirko Jurkovic Sr., who played on Notre Dame’s last national championship team. He died two years ago after a battle with cancer. He was 42 years old.
Irish interest in Jurkovic Jr., who played at St. Joe High School, located a mile from Notre Dame, was light early in the recruiting process until his transfer to IMG Academy in Florida. While there he blocked for Irish commitment Tony Jones Jr. and played with Florida State signee Deondre Francois.
Jurkovic ultimately earned offers from Ohio State, Florida, Nebraska, Missouri, South Carolina and Tennessee, among others. He committed to the Cornhuskers in July before his senior year, then flipped to Ohio State in December.
Notre Dame nearly offered at multiple points during the process but never did.
If the Irish take Jurkovic Jr. it would further stretch Notre Dame’s roster against the 85-man limit. If Ishaq Williams returns on a football scholarship and former walk-ons Montgomery VanGorder and Connor Cavalaris remain on scholarship, the Irish would enter training camp with 88 scholarship players, assuming no more roster attrition.
Even if Williams, VanGorder and Cavalaris all came off scholarship, which is a strong possibility, a Jurkovic addition would push Notre Dame over the limit barring additional roster deletions.
In terms of the offensive line, grabbing Jurkovic would make sense for Harry Hiestand after Jerry Tillery moved to defensive tackle during spring practice. Jurkovic could be a tackle or guard and would join a class with center Tristen Hoge and guard Trevor Ruhland.
Notre Dame has two commitments in its current recruiting class in Scout 100 prospects Tommy Kraemer and Liam Eichenberg. Both project at tackle, with primary guard target Parker Boudreaux set to announce next week.
SCOUT

As far as scholarship numbers, they won't be at 88 come September. Johnny Williams recently announced he would transfer, we were at 88 before that was announced. I doubt VanGorder and Cavalaris remain on scholarship as well. Both were walk-ons that earned one year scholarships because we had extra spots last year. I think the only walk on that is retaining a scholarship for the coming season is Joe Schmidt.

Stunned he decommitted and is coming to Georgia. Couple of thoughts on the situation:

1). I haven't ready anything to suggest this, but I'm guessing he takes 2015 as his Redshirt season, simply to get his academics in order and to train. We had a ship to give when one of our previous commits decided to give up football.

2). I always was leery, but now even more so. What's going on down at the IMG academy to prepare young men and women for the rigors of the SAT/ACT and university classwork? Would he have been better off playing at South Bend High?
Georgia isn't an AAU member and it isn't Notre Dame, but it sure as hell isn't easy either. I hope this young man develops some good habits in Study Hall

3). If memory serves, Mr. Jurkovic is our first "Croatian Signee" !!

Welcome Mirko!

OHIO STATE COMMIT TURNED GEORGIA BULLDOG MIRKO JURKOVIC SAYS THERE ARE NO HARD FEELINGS FOR THE BUCKEYES

There have been conflicting reports over what happened between Jurkovic and Ohio State. Was it really an academic issue? Or did Ohio State run out of scholarships?
“I wasn’t admitted to Ohio State,” Jurkovic explained.

“I don’t know what all went on there behind the scenes there. It just kind of was what it was. I don’t know. I wasn’t admitted to Ohio State. That’s all I know.

“And there are no hard feelings against Ohio State. It’s a business. It didn’t mess me up too much. I ended up at Georgia, so I’m not too mad or disappointed about that. Ohio State is just a thing in the past now.”

... I'm unfamiliar with these "conflicting reports" — as far as I know, Mirko's problems have always been reported as academic in nature. Even Notre Dame asked him to attend Holy Cross (at Notre Dame) for a year before transferring to the big show.

Regardless, it's always nice to see an amicable breakup.
