How will they decide which tickets will be honored and which will be refunded? They have 14,000 fewer seats!

Overflow seating at the Barn?

star tribune article

basically no beer taps, no suites, no priority parking, the concession stands are not insulated, the bathrooms are not insulated so potential freezing pipes/water issues. (appears they will tarp them and use space/torch heaters to try and keep them "functional"

link also includes a cool slide show of events/clean up at the hhh metrodome.

No dome just like Camp Randall. Might make it a tougher venue for the visitor.

Speaking of which...

^ Right. If they built a stadium that could do outdoor games in the winter I doubt the stadium would be as large and nice as it already is or they would have blown the budget. UM doesn't care that the NFL and Vikings are footing the bill for the shoveling and winterization. So when they aren't spending the money in the winter why winterize?

As planned, the stadium would be in use from Sept-Nov and 'winterized' after that. No real need for the stadium to be designed for winter use.

FWIW, by 'winterize', I meant shut off the water, drain back the water pipes and basically shut the whole facility down for the winter.

there should be home playoff games in snow occasionally, just like the nfl.

There should not be bcs games in canada, minnesota or one of the dakotas.
