Mili, angry female combat assassins explore stereotypes, sociology

Actually, if you're "old school", then you'd have no problem popping a woman who'd just punched you. I'm 56, and when I was Hyde's age the thought of a woman punching a man unprovoked in a bar was inconceivable...but if she did, then there was no problem in her getting hit back because she asked for it (now waits for someone to dig up the lame comparison of the old argument that a woman couldn't be raped if she wore suggestive clothing "because she was asking for it").

Fuck "moral distinctions". Women cried for decades for equality, and if they want it they should expect to be treated equally if they start going around physically assaulting people. Do you really think that women can go around punching men and be exempt from retaliation just because they're female?

As you know, I live in Hawaii. They are a lot of big-assed local gals here. What if a 6', 200+lb Samoan gal took a swing at me because I wouldn't dance with her, or buy her a drink, or whatever? Now what if some 5'6", 150 lb drunk dude got all brave and wanted to hit me? By your "moral compass", it would be wrong for me to strike the Samoan gal back, but OK for me to flat out beat the shit of the guy, even though the Samoan gal would probably wipe the floor with the smaller dude if they got into it.

 You just really want to fight a chick. Just admit it.

I guess we just had different male role models growing up, then. I'm under no false assumptions that domestic violence and other violence against women was any less prevalent years ago, but the values I grew up with would not allow for striking a woman, absent extenuating circumstances, regardless of whether she struck first.

Bingo.

Are you seriously arguing that a 6'0" 240 pound man is justified in striking a woman who struck him first because some women have historically sought equal access to the ballot box, education and pay?

He seriously suggested that. Some people were just raised differently I guess.

Congrats on your date!

She did, oddly, invite my wife and I back to the bar at 7am to watch the Hungarian Grand Prix the next morning... I'll admit to checking my phone to make sure the Hungarina Grand Prix was in fact the next morning. (and for some reason wondering how much Nigel Mansell now weighs).

But, alls well that ends well... but, it was odd that some kid was singing Jay-Z's 99 problems while this conversation was going on... and to be fair, the kid was butchering it.

Nice false presumption. Actually, it was my Mom who told me when I was a young kid that if a girl hit me that I had better hit her back, just as I would a boy who had just hit me. This came after a girl who lived across the street (older sister of my friend and who was about a year older than me) after she scratched me up when I got involved in an argument between her and the friend. When I went home, my uncle and aunt who were visiting saw me and my uncle gave me a ration of shit for letting a chick kick my ass. My Mom then told me that the next time that the girl (or anyone else) did that to me that I hit back. My uncle proceeded to give the archaic speech about how boys shouldn't hit girls, and my Mom replied "Then why are you giving him a hard time about 'being beaten up by a girl' if he can't fight back"? My uncle didn't say shit after that. Go figure.

What if some dude that was approximately the same size as that chick had punched Hyde? Would Hyde then be justified in your mind for striking back?

just for clarity's sake ... are we continuing this argument just to see if milli will blow a fuse ...?
I should have thought THAT was obvious.

I can just picture Mili sitting around at a table at a bar with some friends. One of the friends decides to tell a joke:

Friend: "What do you say to a woman with two black eyes?"

Another friend: "I don't know."

Friend: "Nothing. You already told her twice."

Mili (interrupting the laughter at the table): "Damn straight!"

All this talk about a woman hitting you first- what about getting pinched?!

Couple summer's ago I was attending an event that my friends and I like to hold- a decathlon of athletic games and competitions that sort of brings us back together for a good time. Well, I got paired with this chick I absolutely despised out of the group of friends. I don't like how she talks. I don't like the things she does. I don't like anything about who she is.

So here we are playing a game of beer pong (maybe I exaggerated the athletic portion of this event). She's had a few drinks. I'm totally sober (in other words I drank way too much the previous night before the big event day and was still recovering). Anywho, out of no where after a shot she decides to reach over and severely pinch my arm. Keep in mind I'm in a tank top (sun's out, guns out...summer time!) so this is a bare-skin pinch. Immediately I jump and move my arm to completely swipe across her arm/chest while shoving her away. I proceeded to ask "WTF is wrong with you?!" while in shock that this girl somehow thought that action was a good idea.

I didn't swing on her, but my swipe definitely hit her arm and brushed her off my presence. Never saw anything wrong with it. Thought she was being playful, but was completely stupid and out of line.

Damn pinch left a bruise.

When I was about 4 or 5 I was at my grandparent's house and the neighbor girl hit me. I told my grandmother and she told me to hit her back so I did. She never hit me again.
The only other girl I've hit in my life was a girl at school, probably when I was 8 or 9, because she kicked me in the nuts for no reason. She never kicked me in the nuts again.
Since then I've never had to hit another girl nor a woman, I've never been in that situation. I will say though that watching our store security dude knock these beasts out that come at him with fists flying and teeth gnashing have made me think that if I'm ever in his situation I'd do the same. A lady, I would never hit, a wilderbeast, I would kick her teeth in if necessary.
