Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

I already feel sorry for the dog in that picture....who here amongst us is willing to bet he made it past the "I'm Michael Vick, don't call me Ookie" stage. What a fucking prick. I'm a pretty small dude, when it comes down to it, but I can be a fucking asshole too. Fuck you, Ookie, too late now to hope it's just yo' mama....OOKIE What do you mean, don't call me Ookie? Fuck off, bitch! I hope you rot in hell you little underachieving Prison-ass-raping-beeotch, maybe now he will see how a 10 yard out pattern can get mis-understood as a NFC West battle vs. killing dogs. FUCK OFF MIKE VICK!

Yeah, they'll probably just throw red paint on him, but that would be cool too.

See now if Ingrid Newkirk stepped up to throw paint on him and then Rosie O'Donnel was dropped from several hundred feet and landed on both of them....I could go for that. :)

NFL notebook
Goodell to wait for court ruling on Vick

Thursday, July 19, 2007 3:52 AM

Associated Press

Michael Vick won't be on the field when the Atlanta Falcons open training camp a week from today. He'll be in a federal courtroom facing charges that he sponsored a gruesome dogfighting operation.
For the time being, how-ever, the NFL intends to let the star quarterback play until he's proved guilty.
After consulting with the Falcons, commissioner Roger Goodell and top league officials agreed to let the legal process determine the facts.
A person with knowledge of the meeting said the NFL would stick to that position for the foreseeable future, despite its new personal conduct policy.

Seriously, schwab, holding your anger inside of you like you are is not good...just let it out. Tell us how you really feel. :wink2:

Vick accusations sickening

By Bob Ryan, Globe Columnist | July 19, 2007

Yes, yes, I know. An indictment is not a conviction.

We need to observe due process. I know that, too.

However . . .

I'm having a hard time looking at the rather handsome face of Michael Vick right now. I can tell you that much. What he and his codefendants are accused of are despicable acts. I realize that dogs are not human beings and that, in the grandest scheme of things, people should focus more on the Ray Lewis murder coverup and the Pacman Jones involvement in a man becoming paralyzed for life, but the idea that in this day and age someone would organize dogfighting is utterly repugnant.

I'd put the odds at 50/50. The thing 2 things that Vick has going for him:
1. $ to afford a good lawyer
2. The type of people who are witnesses to 'dogfights' usely are scumbags and Vicks lawyer might be able to dismiss how reputable they actually are.

Yeah, but when the feds are starting to get involved you can bet they have a good case, especially against someone with such a high profile. If he sees any time behind bars, however, I will be surprised, I am figuring he'll probably get a ton of fines and probation, not to mention the Falcons will be looking for any way out of that contract.

If he had been the first to flip and sing to the Feds then I agree that jail time would be minimal or possibly none.
If he flips on one of his other three co-defendants then I can see diminished time. Plea bargain or not as BB73 suggests (being a typical MO for Federal Prosecutions) I don't see the plea being a "Get Out of Jail Free" card - just too much going against him.

Four cooperating witnesses, the likelihood that his business partners flip to the Feds being less well heeled. The multiple charges and their cumulative jail-time. Plus,I agree with BB73 that it is Vicks's personality and ego that might, ill-advisedly, take him down the wrong road to fight the charges.

Next weeks arraignment will be most interesting. Odds of 50:50 that one of the other co-defendants flips just before or immediately after that date? Odds of 30:70 that Vick does the smarter thing and pleads down immediately - being the one to flip?
Any other odds that are worth setting?
I smell a vBet!

If anyone is interested, the Humane Society has set up a link to send Goodell a message to urge him to suspend Vick.

pathetic. Let the man (goodell) do his job. He has already came out and said that he is going to let the justice system do its job and then he will do his.

his policy he put in place is for REPEAT offenders. yes this is probably as bad as it gets but this is the first real time he has gotten into trouble with the law.

yes he has acted stupid before but never gotten introuble with the law, unlike pacman, tank or chris henry.

i knew someone would throw that out.. but was he ever in trouble for it? yeah it caused a stir in the media and everyone wanted him to go down for it, but he was never charged with anything. I mean they tested it and no drugs were found in it.

Pacman wasn't charged in every one of his run-ins with the law, either.
