Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

well i know there happens to be a few other quarterbacks out there that routinely make it to the Conference Championship games and super bowls, but are always classified as "cannot win in the playoffs". Its amazing how McNabb can go to 4 straight NFC championships with 1 super bowl appearance, and then Manning can put together great season after great season, but are both considered "guys who cannot win in the playoffs" while Vick makes it to 1 and loses.

so basically what your saying is none of them are better than tom brady just because they dont win the super bowl.

I would use Mark Rypien as a better example... tho around here people are more willing to write off Brady as average

Tom Brady is a clutch QB and he is very talented. I'm not a big fan of Tom Brady, but he is a good QB. However, he is (was) surrounded by a great deal of talent; especially on defense. Peyton Manning and Michael Vick never really had a stellar defense on their team in past years. It will be interesting to see how they perform when they make the playoffs this year.

I came to this thread to see if anyone wanted to comment on the performance today, another good performance, but came out on the losing end.

Now I ask the ? to those that were basically saying it all about stats.

Is it all about stats or is it about the W.

By the way we all knew Farve was going to stay down all season.

Does his performance prove us both wrong? It is not all about stats. I didn't get a chance to see the game. Vick has been atrocious throwing the ball this season until the last 2 games. Does throwing 20 for 30 for 200+ yards 2 touchdowns against a bad defense really prove your point? He is going to have to consistently perform like this against great defenses for Atlanta to make the Super Bowl.

Am I the only person who thinks the Falcons would be better off starting their backup QB and turning Vick into a "Slash"? He would still be in every play either at WR, RB, or QB, but he would be put in a position to make more big plays since the whole defense wouldn't be designed to stop him.
The Falcons remind me of my brothers 7 grade football team several years ago. They started the season with the best athlete on the team playing QB and my brother playing WR. My brother was a good WR, but he didn't have the speed to break the game like the kid playing QB. After my brother threw a few reverse passes for TD's the coaches realized the team would be more explosive if they switched my brother and the other kid. That's how the team stayed for the next 3 years and in 9th grade they ended up 9-1, the best 9th grade record since his big brother's team went undefeated. (sorry had to give my team some props.)

Michael Vick played well again on Sunday. He was 20-30 for 200+ yards. He only ran the ball 7 times for 24 yards. I believe he played very well and you can't fault him for the loss (although, he did have a fumble or two). The Falcons defense gave up 33 points, and most of the time when you give up that many points, you won't come out on top. I'm not a Michael Vick fan, myself, but I will admit he is starting to come around and pass the ball a lot better.

Schaub while capable, I don't think could handle a whole year at qb yet, and Vick would probably get hurt, b/c he doesnt take hits very well, and paying at Wr, rb he would take a lot of hits.

i just dont see how he is bad quarterback at all. the passes he does make in the pocket are either to the reciever or not going for an int and a lot of passes are while he is running faster than any other qb in the league can run period. i just aint seein it. this guy made the pro bowl and showed what he could do as a passer when he just lit up the pro bowl defense better than any of the other pro bowl qbs did.

i think one of the major things holding vick back from becoming a great QB is his turnovers. i think that if he can cut down on his fumbles/interceptions he can take his game to a new level. and all of that can be fixed with just experiance and work so while i cant stand the guy personally, he does have potential to become a great QB if he can keep things up with his passing, and taking care of the ball.

18/34 for 272 for 2tds. Lets see if the D can hold them off.

Keep in mind Vick brought them back from 13-0.

He went out early in the game not sure if it was an injury or what, but schaub came in for one play and fumbled the ball in the endzone for one of TB's Tds.

By the way the one td was to Jenkins.
