Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

yeah well their D has forgot how to stop anyone giving up a ton of points to GB and Tampa. Not exactally two stellar Offenses.

well tampa bay is a decent offense (with cadillac playing well now) and green bay will always put points up with Favre slinging it around. their defense has been playing pretty poor, but untill they start giving up 30 to the texans and jets, i wouldnt call their opponents that horrible on the offensive (though neither are really elite offenses anyway, but decent ones).

Don't know if you follow Falcons football or not, but there D has been strong over the past year or so and to give up in the 30's to Tampa and Green Bay is totally unacceptable. Vick did what he had to do to keep them in the games and he even tried a helluva a comeback this past saturday, but the defense gave it up and he still gave his team a chance to kick a 55 yarder to tie it up.

true, giving up 30 points to any team is pretty poor, and Atlanta does have a good defense, but it could have been to teams with totally non-existent offenses, because thats when you start to really worry about your D rolling over for anybody. but i dont follow Falcons football really that in-depth so im sure some of you are more knowledgable of them.

Yeah, and as we all know... defenses win games. You can put up 30+ points a game, still have a great offense, and lose. Just ask Peyton Manning how painfully true that is.

i believe peyton didnt put up any 30+ points when he lost his games. those games he lost were when he got shut down / choked (whatever reason you wanna go with) and then the defense gave up points. but Manning has rarely put up 30 points or more and still lost a big game.

I saw another good performance by Vick on Thursday. Him and Alge Crumpler really showed some great chemistry, together. He also competed against a pretty good defense, and if they hadn't of been up by so much, then he could've had really good stats.

Detroit Lions = Mediocre defense.

Saying that "if they weren't u by so much they could have had better stats" is a pretty weak arguement, considering that they really only missed 9 minutes. Starters get pulled out of blowout games all of the time, and there are countless times where a team could have put up more yards and more points, but players got pulled. Getting pulled at halftime makes a difference, but 9 minutes of a dieing game is not really anything that you should put an asterik next to.

Its like Wilt Chamberlain scoring 100 points in a basketball game, sure, there are players good enough that can get hot enough who could attempt to repeat it against a poor team, but they usually get pulled out after about 60 points or so. Its not anything to really complain about, because it is effective for all players and teams and not just something that limits a certain player.

I think you misunderstood him, he was talking about, how Vick didnt have to throw, b/c the running game was working, and they didnt have to drop back and pass 30 or so times.

He was saying if he did the numbers would of been a lot higher.

yeahh he had just been tellin me earlier that vick had missed 9 minutes of playing time, and could have had more passes in that time.

but yeah its cool, and vick did play pretty well. their defense also played well except for that one roy williams TD towards the end.

17-35 with under 200 yards and 2 picks in a big game. Real solid.

NFL getting nervous their precious golden goy is gonna be sitting at home in January.

Well not sure if you saw the game, but the line fucking sucked he was under tremendous pressure all day.

The falcons had a 4th and one play where they went for it and it was a qb sneak and before he was even able to try and attempt to get to the outside a guy busted in and tackled him for a 6 yards loss. He was sacked 5 times and you can just imagin how much pressure he was under if he went down 5 times.

Also The Falcons are still in good shape to get that last place wild card if they can get some better play from their O-line and their two stud DE's were out against Carolina. The score was also closer than the final as it was just 6 or 8 unsure up until about 6 minutes left.

Will a Vick QB'd teams win a lot of games? Yes, until Vick slows down
Will Vick ever win a Super Bowl? No, unless he gets traded to Da Bears for the rest of the season since they've shown that they can win w/o a QB at all.
I know Vick makes to much money to move, but I still believe that the Falcons would be better off moving Vick to a Shot Ginn, Slash type of player than the starting QB. I feel sorry for Jenkins when the announcers talk about how all of the Falcons problems are due to them not having good WR's. Maybe if they had a QB that could throw the ball the WR's would be better. If Vick played for the Colts everyone would think their WR's suck to, but if Manning played for the Falcons their WR's would look great.
BTW that TD to White last week was one of the worst throws I have ever seen in the NFL. Against anyone with a decent defense that is a pick or at the very least incomplete. It's easy for Vick to look good in the regular season when he is facing a crappy defense every other week. Lets see how he plays the next 3 weeks against 3 of the better D's in the NFC. I'll put my v$ that he will be sitting on his couch during the playoffs this season.
