Mike Vick (Pittsburgh Steelers)

In all fairness though, Eli isn't viewed as the second coming anywhere except in the Manning household - remember daddy dissing the Chargers?
I still find that absolutely hilarious. I can't wait until Giant fans totally turn on him and boo him outta the Meadowlands this season. Who needs LT in the backfield with you when you can have Brandon Jacobs.:slappy:

First off let me start by saying that I have never said that Vick is guilty or innocent...What is wrong with saying that I am going to wait until everything comes out until I pass judgement...

I also will say that if he is convicted, he will no longer be my favorite QB and I hope that he gets put away for a couple years, just like his cousin...Dog Fighting is not something that I support in anyway and think that it should be punished with a felong like it is...

With that said, I also understand that Vick is a public figure, people are goign to try and run with stuff even with no substance if they have it b/c they know it will sell, much like the Clarett fiasco we had a couple years ago...There was all kinds of mud slinging and hoping that something would stick...There were also all kinds of people that were ready to give us the death penalty, for what a little 500 donation given to a player...

So with all that said if he is guilty, no longer my favorite QB, that will then be Joey Harrington...But if he is innocent all these posts and articles and everything smearing his name in the mud is going to be what everyone remembers, much like with the Clarett thing...Now when ever we get a recruit, there is talk that we must of done something dirty or we are known as tO$U...Why b/c of the way the media played the whole thing out...Is it fair, no...

Know then to this point, yes Vick did bring a lot of this on himself by giving the money and house to his cousin...That is what he should be held responsible for at this point, he has said as such that he needs to clean up what is around him, and that is true, and I think he knows this much hopefully and can take care of it...

Also as for him playing dummy and acting like he doesnt know is another thing that can be addressed, I know we had this discussion yesterday, but I don't think it is out of the question for him to not know that this was going on, I have cousins that I don't know what is going on with, in the NFL and NBA there are leaches and people that want to attach to you and get all they can get from you, b/c they know you have it and they feel you owe it to them for being related...The part that Michael needs to learn is to say no. I also think that there is possiblity that he did know and is not going to tell people that he did know, b/c that would link him to it...

And last but not least, if he is found innocent, no I do not think he should be suspended, after looking at it, it is not even close to being parallel with the pacman and Chris Henry situations...THey both had countless arrest, Pacman 10 and Henry 4 or 5...

How many has Vick had 0...He had a minor thing with the no fishing license, but I can tell you that there are many people that fish without a license, and is probably as common as speeding tickets, he payed like an 80 dollar fine, woopdy dooo...The water bottle thing, he was not arrested the bottle was conviscated, ran test on and then all charges were dropped, once again while his name took a drubbing in the media for having a water bottle with a secret compartment...We can make assumptions about what it was used for, but that doesnt mean that is what he used it for...Then last but not least the dog fighting thing...If he is found guilty he will be suspended anyway as he will be sitting in jail or prison, so that point doesnt matter, but if he is found innocent, there is no reason for suspension IMO, like some of you have been lead to believe...

Hope this helps you guys on my stance, also hope that the little violinist helps you guys sleep at night, b/c that really brings substance to the discussion...We will keep the thug part out of this as that discussion is for another place, and like usual any black athlete who is accused of something has the label of a thug...You would think that would get boring to some, and you thing some would of a wider mind to think of a different way to discuss the wrong doings of someone other than a broad sterotype of the word thug...

Jesus Christ, what is this a transcription of War & Peace? You care way too much about this asshole.

I agree. I just don't see other over-hyped QB's taking the same abuse. Eli Manning comes to mind.

Yeah, except Eli does not get into trouble or make headlines for doing dumb shit off the field. TO takes plenty of abuse from non-fans and the media so that comparison is weak and K2 made one mistake and has paid for it, literally, but losing millions of dollars in contract and bonus monies. He also is not out there spreading Herpes, "allegedly" participating in dog fighting or giving the Finger to his own fans. Try again.

A better candidate for atrocious over-hype and subsequent recrimination is in the new crop of QBs. You all know his name.

no that isn't owned. I addressed that a page or two back, those threads are nothing like this one. Like I said I have zero respect for "K2" or TO, I wasn't comparing their situation to Vick's just stating a my opinion. You may want start rereading posts before responding to them.

Vick's home subject to investigation

SONJA BARISIC

Associated Press

NORFOLK, Va. - A prosecutor, sheriff and investigators are scheduled to meet Monday to review evidence collected in the weeks since dogs and equipment associated with dog fighting were seized from a home owned by NFL star Michael Vick.
No charges have been filed in the case, but Surry County Commonwealth's Attorney Gerald Poindexter said Wednesday as many as six to 10 people could be involved.
Dog fighting is a felony in Virginia.
"I'm convinced from what I saw that dog fighting has occurred down there, but who was involved in it I don't know at this point," Poindexter said in a telephone interview, noting that he saw what looked like blood spatters in a room over a garage.
"We're going to find out."
