Mike Leach (HC Mississippi State, a National Treasure, R.I.P.)

The WSU AD issued a statement that basically amounts to "don't let the door hit ya..."

As somebody who works with college students, it never ceases to amaze me the way some of them respond to not getting their way or being told something they don't want to hear. I'll be surprised if that isn't the real story here, and that Wilson saw the alleged abuse angle as a convenient way to lash out.

Leech always has one player a year whine about doing some work. I read in his book that sometimes he had them run around campus with a brick over their head.

Actually, I think that this could hurt him with some parents in tight recruiting battles in the future, especially if this kid goes somewhere else and does well.

Whether its true or not that he abuses players, the complaint takes him out of coaching positions at most top universities. That's Craig James real legacy to this guy.

This. Although the "allegations" have led to a review in our CYA society... which isn't a bad thing.

If there's a problem, they'll fix it. If there's not, no one will report it.

Arrrgh. Or...Arrrrrrrrrrr.....

DENVER -- The Pac-12 has agreed to look into allegations made by former Washington State receiver Marquess Wilson of abusive behavior by coach Mike Leach and his staff, commissioner Larry Scott said Monday.

The decision by the conference to investigate the claims comes two days after Wilson quit the team.

Wilson says he left the program because of the actions of Leach and his staff. Wilson says the new staff has "preferred to belittle, intimidate and humiliate us," and that included physical abuse.

Asked after Saturday's 44-36 loss to UCLA to comment on Wilson's departure, Leach said, "I'm not going to talk about anybody that's not here, you know. I coach the guys that are here. I don't have anything to say about anybody that's not here."
Asked if he denied abusing Wilson, Leach said, "Absolutely. Next question. And if you expect to ask another one, you won't keep walking down that path."

Leach no longer welcome at DeSoto (Texas) High School

Claude Mathis, head coach at Texas' DeSoto program and a former star running back at Southwest Texas State, understands the nature of recruiting. But what happened to senior defensive back Myron Turner, Mathis said, is just unforgivable. Turner, a 6-0, 175-pound safety for the 5A Division I semifinalists, took his official visit to Washington State last weekend. He'd been committed to Mike Leach since October, and -- according to Mathis -- had since spurned all other suitors. Nevertheless, Mathis got a call on Monday that Washington State was no longer going to honor its offer. ... "You just don't do a kid like that," Mathis said. "Washington State isn't welcome at DeSoto any longer."
