Mid-major fan is saying an 8-team playoff should be the P5 champions and three highest rated G5 champions which would have resulted in the following first round games.

Memphis (NR) @ Alabama
Marshall (NR) @ Oregon
Boise (20) @FSU
Baylor (5) @ Ohio State.

Stupid, mid-majors.

While I agree that if they go to 8 teams, and 5 spots are automatic for conference champions, there should be some deal available for the mid-majors (need to be ranked in top whatever, or ranked higher than a P5 conference winner, or whatever), there is no way that those three mid-majors belong with those 5 teams. The only team that gets to complain is TCU, and I don't even care what TCU says.

I would be cool with this.

P5 Champs + 2 highest ranked non-champs + Highest rated G5 champ.

Boise State (20) @ Alabama

Mississippi State (7) @ Oregon

TCU (6) @ FSU

Baylor (5) @ Ohio State

Sparty gets left out this year for the truck drivers. If the mid-major takes the plunger every year, it shuts them up and is a nice bye week reward for being the #1 seed. If not, well then they deserved to be there anyways.

At the end of the day, the mid-majors are going to take whatever scraps we shove off the side of the table because their lawyers have already told them there is NO antitrust or collusion issues and their accountants have told them that they'll make more money at our feet than they will breaking off and forming their own G5 playoff.

Stupid mid-majors.

Meh. Probably not the right place to bring up our ideas for how the playoffs should be decided. But I don't like the idea of #20 getting a shot, regardless of which conference you're in.

Fuck all this. We're gonna implode the Big XII and take Kansas and Oklahoma. Power 4 champions get in the 4 team playoff. Tejas and Notre Dame can go fuck themselves independently and the mid majors can find some other way to fund their athletic departments.

It should be the big 5 champions then the 3 highest ranked non champions regardless of conference.

Sorry but a Boise team who looked terrible in losing to the only higher level team they played in the regular season, lost to Air Force and ended with a conference title win over a 6 win Fresno team belongs nowhere near a shot for a national title.

JFC. The dude that changed his facebook profile pic to houndstooth, got a spot on comment, deleted it, then sent a fourteen paragraph diatribe explaining why he doesn't like tOSU is choc full of butthurt. Overflowing really. Just....stuffed full of inadequacy, anger, bitter jealousy.
