Michigan WR Mario Manningham (official thread)

I don't care how deep Michigan is at WR, MM is a game changer. With him we are in a dog fight in November. If for some reason he is still not back that very much changes the complexion of that game.

Maybe, but that's 2 toughies to win in a row without your best playmaker.

Not so sure either PSU or Iowa is so tough. Penn State has NO offense, and Iowa folds like a cheap card table under pressure. They just don't have the breadth of talent they will need to beat scUM.

By themselves, maybe not. But in a row without your best offensive weapon? I think you're discounting it too much. Penn State gave us a run...no reason to think they won't do the same to the Weenies, except they are now on the road and without the guy who can do what Gonzo did to them. Obviously we'll see what happens, but those 2 games will be tough without him.

Agreed completely. I really am smelling upset this weekend in Nappy Valley. The Nits will be "up" for this game looking to avenge their only loss in their "return to glory" season last fall. Without MM to stretch the D, the Nits will be able to key in more on Hart and limit the running game, and Henne has a serious tendency to try to force things when he doesn't have a go-to WR which could lead to some mistakes. Arrington seems like an Avant-lite to me and I'm not sold on their depth that they claim to have at the position.

I don't wish for injuries on anyone. But when they happen to teams other than my favorite, I really could care less.

Look at it this way, if there was one big name to get injured this weekend, might as well be on your rival team.

I didn't cry for Big Jen...and I won't cry for Super Mario.

Fuck "excuses"...you play with who you have. I would not shed any tears if MM didn't set foot on our turf.

Hard but true. Everyone has lost players to injury, besides we have no notion of when Manningham will be back, or for how long he will be out.
