Can't deal with the formatting in the stats, but I like your point. No WR will make the difference, at least not from the offensive side of the ball. Maybe on special teams, but that doesn't count.
For anyone who cares.
Limiting your audience quite a bit, aren't you.
Now... since I don't care, I didn't read your post... however, I'm not sure why your Opinion isn't good enough...its fine... don't worry about the dude... but its okay for others to worry about him.
What I'm saying is... that if all this karmic energy that you're putting into not worry about this kid comes back to bite you in the ass if this kid beats us on the last play, or goes all Braylon Edwards on us... I will ding you to oblivion, you jinxing motherfucker.
I don't think anybody putting up big numbers will be the different in the recieving game...but maybe a guy like Manningham could catch a game winning TD pass. As far as somebody who completely takes over the game...it won't be a reciever. It would either be a guy like Henne, or Hart. Or for the Buckeyes Smith or Pittman. If any reciever could take over the game, I think it would be Ted Ginn Jr. But this would also include special teams play. Both teams are probably going to at least and try to spread the ball around.
WRs may not be the biggest difference makers, but they sure do help the quarterback and the running game if they are playing well...not to mention clutch catches. They are all gears in the same machine, but the WR position has the ability to break one moreso than anyone else IMO
The WR that made the biggest difference in The Game that came to mind to me was Woodson in '97, but he did it in the return game and on defense as well...I saw the game last night and got a chance to get caught up again thanks to ESPN Classic...he sure as hell was a great distraction on offense and made some clutch plays, definitely helped the Michigan offense. He was definitely the difference maker in that one :)
I'm fucking baffled... wy is everyone using "Likely" and "Typical" and "Wiil be this and Won't be that."
Nothing is normal... this is the FUCKING GAME.
The Difference? Is probably going to be one big play... Might be by Mannignham... he might "make" the play.... someone might slip.
Could be 10-7... the "Difference Maker might be an up man on a squib kickoff... big return... big fumble...
Day is night, Night is Day.
