Michigan WR Mario Manningham (official thread)

True frosh. Need I say more.

Our dbs are respectable, but we need to tighten up or we will be in for a long day.
no, and I think I speak for many when I say I wish you would speak less. he's a good wr? Do tell! We had no idea. And we are in big trouble in AA, fo sho!
How in the world did um's Mario Manningham get away from us. Once again, um has a potential big game player from the state of Ohio
They probably won't have a better season than us but what is the matter with having some more receivers in the mix.
Holmes will probably leave next year, and right now we can't bank on Ginn Jr. as a receiver.

Edit: Let's calm down a little.
Outside of the 2 touchdowns he has come up with a couple of big plays. The talent is there

He also had his way with Jemario O'neal in an All-Star game this summer.
did he? that's interesting, b/c he was on the same team as jamario in both games.

What I am trying to say is when Prescott Burgess went to Michigan he started trying to get Mario to come there then thats when Mario started rooting for Michigan because Prescott was up there and so was Carl Diggs then his DB coach is a former micigan player and his basketball coach is a UM fan and the coaches brother played at Michigan. Warren is not pro michigan and Buckeye fans outnumber them. When they announce the mIchigan score at the games and there losing the crowd cheers. We have sent more players to Ohio State and than Michigan. We have sent 5 to Michigan and probably about 8 to Ohio State.
While Warren Harding might be pro-Ohio State historically, that has not been the case recently (with the exception of Clarett), hence the perception of it being a scUM pipeline. Isn't assistant coach Alfie Birch largely responsible for pushing kids to look at Ann Arbor? The shitty thing is that now this trend has started, more and more Harding kids will look at scUM because of their ex-teammates playing there.

Couldn't find any other Manningham threads and didn't want to start another, so here goes: this kid is a game breaker, and I hope we don't get burned by him like Howard and Woodson. Other than Braylon Edwards, this kid might be the best WR to play at scUM in the last 10 years, and seems to be next in line for the #1 jersey. Justin King isn't exactly a slouch when it comes to speed, but Manningham schooled him for the TD down the sideline in Saturday's game.

Here's hoping Malcolm Jenkins/Jamario O'neal/Teddy Ginn/AJ Wallace (wishful thinking) can neutralize him in the years to come.

I think the story goes Manningham had a big game against him in a regular season game, which is worse than it happening in an all-star game.

Manningham's a stud, and Michigan got him. Oh well, it happens.
well stated. I never suggested he wasn't a stud, just that it's not worth getting flustered about, considering he really wasn't interested in OSU. And Jamario was projected as a safety and looks headed there now that he's on campus. Braylon Edwards is much better than Mario Manningham, and look what Youboty did against him. sorry ddott, I'll wait till the sky actually falls before I start fearing mario. He will get his plays, but he can also be shut down (Andre Amos switched to him in the 2nd half and neutralized him in the North/South game).

Rumors are circling that he is out...but I would not put much into them as we would have already heard if it was a serious injury and no coach is going to proclaim a kid "out" this early in the week for something not so serious.

Hell yes it matters.
He's their most dangerous receiver. I'm sure he will play, but they will also use Bass, ETAL extensively as well. They have had 2 weeks to get many key players healthy. they will have no excuses for their impending loss.
This is going to be a very tough, very close game. But I can't envision this group of seniors allowing the team to give anything other than a winning performance, much like the '02 seniors.
