Michigan chatter - 2005

OSU can win without throwing the ball.
I'm not as sure... I think the passing and special teams are the keys of the day... I don't think the running game will have a banner day... the scUM LBs have gotten noticeably better against the run in the last month... I think Gonzo and Holmes light it up...

Personally, I think we have the better talent on all sides of the ball. We match up really well against Michigan this year...I don't think we need any bad whether...cuz right now I'd say if the weather is not a factor, we have the advantage...when u add bad whether anything can happen.

The, "It means more to the people from Ohio than it does to those from Michigan," line is pure bull shit. Just as bull shit as the "Harvard is the Michigan of the East" T-shirts they used to hawk.

I sat on one of the the team buses in 71 (as a journalist) and watched those assholes yell themselves hoarse, "Go to hell, Woody!" I mean some of them were purple in the face, they had worked themsleves up so much.

Give LLLoyd a decade like the one Coop had in the 90s and you'll find out just how little this rivalry means to the folks in Ann Arbor.

The thing is that when scUM has recently had success, we are their biggest rivals, but when we have had more success recently, they play it off like its not that big of a game...

Thats another reason to hate those bastards...

POLL: Which scUM offensive player worries you?

Which Michigan offensive player worries you the most? I say Manningham...he's got five TDs in 20 catches, and they went to him on their do-or-die play against Penn State.

I have to agree, the ONLY player on that team that scares me is Manningham. Avant is a solid "possession" type reciever, but he's not really going to burn you for a big play, and Breaston is too damn inconsistant. There isn't a RB in the country that scares me against our D...well maybe Reggie Bush.

for Ohio State fans who plan weddings and even funerals around when the Buckeyes meet the Wolverines"

If there is any question whatsoever to that statement being true just send the reporter down to interview my wife.

She mistakenly set the date for our wedding the day of the '97 Game and was shocked to find I was serious when I told her it had to be changed. We did actually comprimise and get married that day but it was at 7 PM.

This week she had a death in the family, she's in NY with her family and I am in FL getting ready for The Game.

What strikes me as odd is that anyone would even consider setting up some kind of event that would interfere with The Game. Or that, if invited to some such event, any real Buckeye fan would seriously consider going.
