No mercy
Well they saw that the Texas game brought out hundreds of thousand OSU fans that were very disrepectfull and to be honest, destructive. That type of occurance wasnt even at a game where the emotions will be 100x the magnitude with both teams in the top 20, both fighting for a BCS spot, a conference title, and one simple word - pride. ESPN is fully aware how unfriendly this pre-game/game/post-game could potentially be. However, though they wouldnt want to go, they still wanna milk the shit out of the publictiy for "The Game" by pumping it up hard on their Gameday commercials. They still want OSU-Michigan fans through the nation to tune in as if they were up in Ann Arbor. When they tend to visit a campus, they generally spend most of the time with couple stories on players for the teams that they are attending as well as the coaches and life at that particular campus. They know that OSU-Michigan fans are gonna be pumped up and they want them to still tune in, instead of being out preping for the game so early. They still want the recognition of covering this game, without being in the crossfire of the feuding fans.
