Michigan Chatter - 2004

Herbie's dead on analysis said:
Michigan travels to Ohio State this weekend to continue the best rivalry in sports (GOT THIS ONE RIGHT), a game whose emotions bring out the best in both teams (GOT THIS ONE HALF RIGHT). That being said, the team with nothing to lose usually seems to turn it loose while the team with everything to lose is sometimes guilty of playing not to lose (YOU'RE ON A ROLL HERBIE).

The big question for Michigan where that is concerned is whether the freshman backfield of quarterback Chad Henne and running back Mike Hart continues to play well and play with the poise of upperclassmen. Both have been outstanding in recent weeks but they will be facing an atmosphere like nothing they've seen before (CORRECTOMUNDO) and might be a little tight early on (EXACT OPPOSITE).

The youngsters should settle down after the first series or two (HERE's WHERE YA START HEADING SOUTH HERBIE), and then the key for the Wolverines becomes their defense. They have to prevent Ohio State from scoring on big plays with wideouts Ted Ginn Jr. and Santonio Holmes, because the Buckeye offense is not capable of driving the length of the field (TOTALLY AGREE HERBIE, THE 97 & 99 YARD DRIVES PROVES YOUR ANALYSIS).

The only chance OSU has is to keep the crowd in the game with solid defense and great field position (AGREE, STARTING FROM THE 1 AND THE 3 ARE GREAT FIELD POSITIONS) from special teams and turnovers. The emotion of the game and the experience of both teams will keep the game closer than most would think, but in the end Michigan comes away with a 24-20 win.
- well at least he came close to predicting scUMs score

AJ and Carpenter virtually sealed the deal with NFL scouts for 2006 draft... I suspect D'Andrea will take the mike spot next year.. but in fairness to Schlegal, he must really be favoring his knee because he still looks out of sync

He never said what he was talking about, he look to the side, said somehting to the effect of "is it legal to talk about? I better not talk about it" Best I can guess is maybe TG and TS are going to a HS playoff game ... but I can't see why that would be a problem to metion. Unless JT didn't want to even get close to talking about possible recruits (not that TG and TS are recruiting, but that JT didn't want to break NCAA rules by even mentioning HS football players.. Actually, just thought of this, maybe he was gonna say "They're going to go see Jamario O'Neal play - and that may have been a "comment about a recruit, which would be a violation - or could be anyway) Just guessing though.
