Michigan Chatter - 2004

Length of the Field Drives. The Difference Makers

I think the first length-of-the-field drive was the difference maker in today's game. It showed the Buckeye offense they could play against this defense and let our defense know they would not have to win this one on their own. It also showed michigan something we had done little, if not at all this year, in going from one end to the other for a TD. Then the second all-field drive was like a dagger in the heart (Assuming michigan has a heart).

Youbouty, nuff said. he was there in position, and made the break on the ball that we should expect out of our corners.
I wish we could expect this from our corners, but come on... that INT was a special play. He was in position because he pushed his man out of bounds so he was free to break on the ball. His brain must be working a million miles an hour out there to make that decision that quick. He played the game of his life... SO FAR!

I can't say enough about our OL. They gave Troy all kinds of time to make things happen. Not to diminish what Tony and Troy did, but that first TD was credited to the OL in my book.

The Offensive line did so much better this game. Troy Smith had alot more time to see the field. I didn't even recognize this O-line unit. They were such a pleasant surprise!! Add Troy Smith being patient and when needed running like he did .... WOW !! On top of that add Brandon Joe doing well and then Teddy Ginn well he is just amazing. It was just a great game to watch!!!
Kudla stepped it up too. It was sooooooo fun to watch. WooooooooHooooo
Seemed like all OSU's weaknesses of the past suddenly became the strengths.
GO BUCKEYES !!!!
The great thing is the Buckeyes have such a bright future and so much to build on. I am so excited about the future of the Offensive and Defensive lines. Our Running game needs to improve a little more but I have faith and whose complaining... NOT ME WooooHoooo!!! :groove: Tressel is 3-1 :groove:

Our defense has fighting a very difficult battle all year because of too little time of possession on offense.

Those long drives really kept the pressure on UM. Remember, UM came back hard against MSU. They scored three times very quickly with big play drives of two or three drives. MSU thought they had that game wrapped up or were tired but UM walked right through them. Our guys were fresh, even if penalised excessively and unfairly, and it made a difference. UM came back a few times this year, this time they couldn't get it done against a better coached, better executing and more rested team.

Wow, what a game we played today in all aspects. Is this the next NC team?

Too true:

I was not in the stadium - but man --what a crowd that was --

Before the game I hoped for the crowd "creating" penalties and making life generally difficult for sCU< -- They came through - and how!!

Good work -- wish I'd have been there in person.
