Michigan State's quarterback is the goat of the week in college football. He chokes on a gimme TD to a wide open receiver and then inexplicably makes a desperate throw across his body when it's only 2nd down and his team is already in position to tie the ballgame. He was out of the pocket - why in God's name didn't he throw it away. Once he released it, I figured it was highly likely the ball would be intercepted. This aint Pop Warner Football - you can't get away with that [censored] at this level. The Domers are uber lucky not to have another loss on their record.

I don't think Sparty has a chance in this one......I think the Domers are going to demolish Sparty, but if they lose, it'll be the final blow that exposes Weis for all-time as a huge crock. Last shred of credibility would be out the window.

And yours would have been as well. It still is with me, not that it matters. :) Obviously saying Sparty didn't have a chance against Notre Dame was motivated by wanting to make the outcome of the game @ Michigan look more impressive. How did Sparty not have a chance exactly? USC just lost to a previously floundering Washington program. And it's not like it was a rare occurrence of them alone being upset by a low level major conference team. They lost to Stanford two years ago. And Notre Dame is no USC. Hell, they are no Boise State, BYU, or Utah. It's Notre freakin' Dame! It's silly to say any respectable program doesn't have a chance against anybody.

Eh, he threw it a little deep, but it hit the RUNNING BACK's hands. The QB should have made it easier on him, but the RB was also too worried about the sidelines to make the catch.

He was not remotely close to being out of the pocket. He dropped straight back, and took about 2-3 steps right before getting rid of it from the outside rush crashing down on him.

Agreed.

After the feigned humility by Weis about this win being about his players... my mother in law noticed how none of the players were coming up to Charlie and celebrating the win like you always see afterwards. They celebrated together, stood for the postgame song, then left and celebrated together.

She wondered if that was telling. I think she's right.
