Well, Heavy C gets credit for the W, but anyone who watched it knows his team lost. Blessing in disguise... the longer that tub of goo is in SB the better.

Hmmm...good point.

Just Sparty being Sparty....

yup... but as i was saying to my dad as we watched it over the phone, it's a win-win situation: if Sparty wins, GREAT. and even if they blow it, it's still okay because it means that The Rotund One won't get fired which will give us more chances to laugh at him in the future.

Looks like Floyd is done for the season, with a possible return for a bowl game. Robby Parris will probably be the one that needs to step up and fill the void, although this could be Duvall Kamara's 2nd chance. Shaq Evans or another Freshman could step up, but it'll probably be Robby as he was the most polished through Spring.

That John L Smith .gif is great, the meltdown from the other Sparty choke against ND a few years ago

Didn't that come from the Illinois loss?

Looked it up and yes it was.
He may have done that during the Illinois game week, but the slap was in reference to the ND/MSU game where Sparty gave up a 19 point lead in the 4th quarter I think. During that game there was a play that went out of bounds into NDs sideline, and Weis claimed a Spartan slapped him. Either way, it was a hilarious moment, especially if you couple it with the radio outburst the day after the game.

Tough break (no pun intended). Does Parris really have what it takes to fill that spot? He has never impressed me at ND. Kamara has had flashes.

Kamara was supposed to have potential, but I haven't seen it yet. They tried to push him into the starting lineup his Freshman season and it ended up horribly, he ended up getting replaced by Floyd last year after Tate outplayed him as well. Kamara has the height to get the jump balls and fades into the endzone, but his problem was awareness and a lack of playing "defense." Namely, there were a number of balls that came in his direction in '07 where he should have stepped in to deflect the pass if he couldn't catch it himself, and the pass was picked off as a result. Kamara has looked better this year when the opportunity has been there, but I don't know if he has what it takes to fill Floyd's shoes, we'll see.

I think it'll be Parris to take Floyd's spot as the coaches are impressed on his work ethic and his improvement this year. He's looked good as well when he's been in, although his opportunities thusfar have also been limited. I expect ND will continue to work Armando Allen more over the coming games to avoid having to pass the ball as often.
