You have your experiences, and I have mine. I lived in Steeb 77/78....played hockey for Jerry for one glorious month until my 3rd knee operation in 2 years...and I KNOW my contemporaries in football. I will repeat....KNOW them. knew Woody...knew coach Chaump...knew the guys. Never heard shit about bounties...ever. Not even from guys like Cousineau.

TELL me anything you want. You have your experiences and I have mine.
So 33 years ago there were no bounties while you lived in Steeb. Got it.

How about since then?

Is there no chance somebody slipped money for a big hit to one of the hundreds of kids to go through tOSU in the past 33 years? None? Zero?

Nah, I'll leave you to your sweet dreams. No sense interrupting a good sleep.

No hard feelings, but folks are entitled to their opinions on both sides. I respect your opinion and position even if I disagree.

from your link:

NCAA Bylaws are clear: The ?death penalty? is a phrase used by media to describe the most serious NCAA penalties possible. It is not a formal NCAA term. It applies only to repeat violators and can include eliminating the involved sport for at least one year, the elimination of athletics aid in that sport for two years and the school relinquishing its Association voting privileges for a four-year period. A school is a repeat violator if a second major violation occurs within five years of the start date of the penalty from the first case. The cases do not have to be in the same sport. I added the bolding because it is important to note that given the death penalty ONLY applies to repeat violators and that for Miami to be classified as a repeat violator, the NCAA would have to prove allegations occurred in 2001 and before,

that part in red is the only sentence that matters.

Baseball team was put on probation in 2003.

if this story is true, the Canes are eligible for the death penalty.

I quit reading the article when the writer conveniently forgot this part of the story.

Yes, whereupon you'll later need to vacate all wins that they played in.
I doubt Matt being taken to a house by a coach renders him ineligible if that is all that he did. As to Andre, he may ultimately have to pay back the value of any lap dances that were paid for by an equipment manager. More likely they will be shown the door to NCAA forgiveness land for having the simple good sense not to sign with those guys.

It's like the cop walking up to arrest you for peeing in the park, when suddenly a bunch of bikers with joints in their mouths and pockets full of meth and coke run up and start to punch the crap out of each other - only slowing to yell "F-You, Pig!" as one takes a swing at the officer trying to stop him head kicking the first guy who went down.

The fact the cop has turned to the fighting bikers, started calling for backup, and is now ignoring your illegal [censored]ing self walking away does not mean you were blameless. But it does mean that the cop's anger and resources are so fixated on a different and greater crime that you will totally skate.

Here's a handy chart the 'AllabouttheU" writer put together to classify his analysis of the evidence that Yahoo stated it had for each player:

Well, except for the abortion thing. There are probably only a few schools at which boosters are paying for abortions.
Given the meticulous sexual monitoring of your average Dade County hooker, I'm sure that she was able to zero in and peg the recruit as the daddy. That was a mini shakedown that Lil Luke was probably happy to pay to shut her up. More likely another $500 up her nose.

You really believe "DA U" doesn't have targets? You really believe these 'bounties' are limited to Miami?

I will TELL you...right now, Miami is the only school that has a 'Shapiro' WILLING to tell the truth...or most of it minus the expected masculine exaggeration.

EVERY successful D-1 school HAS or HAS HAD a Shapiro.

It is not what is thought...it what can be PROVEN.

How dare you insert your bucket of truth into this discussion. If this spreads, post count goes down, ad dollars diminish...and.....and the market price of halos and fluffy wings will tank like Wachovia Bank stock.
