Miami (FL) Hurricanes (1926-2003)

From HuskerBoard:
Dan Wetzel is on 1620 (local station) right now and he said they only included what they could confirm in the article. He said that Shapiro told them stories of corruption well beyond what they wrote about.

Not surprising. I'm sure Shapiro was a veritable fountain of information, but not all of it could be verified.

Also, on Dan Patrick this morning he said there were more players, and they only listed the ones for which they could corroborate the allegations.

Cowherd said there were over 30 add'l players and at least one more coach that were implicated, but omitted because Yahoo! couldn't document their actions...yet.

Haven't read the whole thread, as I'm connecting in over a satellite connection in the caribbean...

However, as a University of Miami fan, I am whole-heartedly disappointed in the decisions some of these young men might've made.

If the coaching staff was involved, I will be thoroughly disgusted - that is not what is expected when parents send their kids off to a college.
They expect the staff to guide them in the right directions, and assist in turning boys into men.

I'll pounce back in here once I get back home, and have a chance to catch up and see what the state is - I have very limited access right now, and
basically am getting my info from ESPN international channel, twitter, and slow websurfing.

I am keeping in mind, however, that this is all coming from a jilted felon serving 20 years for fraud, lying, cheating, and stealing.

a felon with countless forms of concrete evidence, some of which has already been substantiated by ex-players. unfortunately for miami, wetzel and robinson have stated that (much) more damning information may be released. i have no reason not to believe the yahoo team. they make dohrmann look like an espn reporter.

"Concrete" with this guy is anything but - he falsified records, financial and other, for years!

That being said, this is NOT a case of "move along - nothing to see here."

Unfortunately, there will be plenty to see here.
Midget with that much money roaming the sidelines, you know something happened...

Why don't these freaking people ever learn?

Jerks like that don't give a SQUAT about the players or the program - they just want to be in the limelight, and see themselves as being "cool."

this guy would have had to taken A LOT of time to make all of this shit up........I mean you would have to have some kind of grudge or REALLY REALLY want the spotlight to sit down and make up individual reports and falsify records for 72 players and some coaches

yahoo has tediously researched and verified shapiro's items. several sources have substantiated shapiro's allegations. businesses have confirmed authenticity of receipts. also, it would be quite difficult for shapiro to fabricate and falsify records while he's in federal prison.

Keeping in mind I'm not turning a blind eye, because SOMETHING happened...

However, this guy has had nothing but time, literally, and is writing a book to hock on everyone, plus he jilted a bunch of people out of nearly a BILLION dollars.

Dude is a professional liar, thief, conman, a just a good old fashioned dirtbag.

That being said.... where there's smoke, there's fire - excuse me while I check my fire extinguishers. gonna get hot as shit around SoFla... BRB.
