Gator - sorry - I REALLY couldn't wait for ya...

already in 3 shots of Jack, 2 shots of Ketel One, and sipping on a vodka cranberry.

Mebbe I can stay numb until about 2014, and bypass the 3 years of suckness that comes with coaching changes, and resulting recruiting avoidances.

<toasting>

CHEERS!

Yeah shark, I feel ya bud. I will miss ole' Wandy something fierce.

I'd care more, but I have my own problems to stew in.

What a disorganized cluster[censored] of a team we have become. Our coaching sucks right now. We need to just let the Brantley family stay [censored]ed and go with Reed and forget about the three headed monster, and to not give up 5 God damn turnovers to a rival. :shake:

I think you should steal that great coach from UCLA.

I like Gruden on MNF, but other then that, I've never got the appeal of him. Seems like he can coach, but can he recruit? The NFL and NCAA our worlds apart in terms of coaching. So many more rules in college football, than in the NFL.

Also I think it would take more then hitting a homerun on the hire to return UM to where it wants to be. The BOT has to be all in, interms of upgrading their god awful athletic facilities and the like.

Gotta logically analyze it, and question it: What does he gain, jumping from MNF to CFB, and not back to the NFL, where he can make probably double the so-called $3.4M//YR at Miami?

Yep. Another thing is.....I think it will be hard for a big name coach to commit to bringing Miami back until the BOT commits to bringing them back IMO.

In Jon Gruden I see a few things...He's a super bowl winning coach that loves the game of football. He's been out of the coaching (pressure cooker) life for a little while now and maybe he's got that itch. Maybe he feels like he's got something to prove. I don't know. No offense but the UM HC job is not exactly a destination job (Jimmy Johnson and Butch Davis come to mind) and it could just be a stepping stone to get him back in the NFL.

Like Shark keeps saying - we'll see...

I see one big fat one:

Polarizing personality? Check.

Reputation for being an Xs and Os genius? Check.

Incredibly stubborn to a fault? Check.

The type of guy who would try to run an NFL playbook with 18-20 year olds? Check.

There's a lot Gruden would bring to the table. For instance, I bet he'd make great in-roads in Tampa recruiting, given his time there as Bucs head coach. He'd also demand a lot of his players, at least in terms of practice and preparation. But I just think some guys are cut out for the NFL, and I suspect Chucky may be one of them.

I'm not sure he's ready to be a head coach - but if I were "Da U" and I had those kind of athletes, I'd seriously consider talking to Gus Malzahn.

He's got to be desperate to leave Auburn and the impending [censored]-storm that is coming, why not head to South Beach? Coach up that great talent and an win an easier league.

Um, you're forgetting Schnelly, and Erickson...

Anyone ELSE want a freaking turn at Revolving HC Door University?

I don't think Gruden needs a stepping stone to get back to the NFL - he can go back whenever he wants.

At first glance, I'm thinking it's either:

A) Hocutt jerking in a pipe dream
B) Gruden using UM to raise the value of whatever deal he gets w/ an NFL team
C) BS put out by media
D) Gruden was bored, leaked info, so he could be entertained watching the TwitterStorm that ensued, seeing as he's calling tonight's Cards-Niners game <Zzzzzzzzzzz>
