Laugh all you want. This already has been talked about and if miami wins their case then you may see even more teams challenge the ncaa. So idk what pipe you speak of.

The pipe that is telling you that something better will replace the NCAA....that's a pipe dream Bob Marley would be proud of.....

So I guess you're fine with ncaa's measures as they are. You are in the minority on that one sir. And anything would be better than the ncaa, can't get worse. Maybe you were the one smoking and failed to read how important this case is for college football:

Cryami was as arrogant about the allegations as U$C was when the Bush stuff came to light.

It doesn't excuse the NCAA, but let's not act like Cryami is innocent in any way, shape or form here.

Hmmmmm.....let's see what I said....Nope, I don't see being fine with the NCAA anywhere in my statement. :roll1:

Put down the pipe.

Nope, you're just ignoring the main fact that the ncaa used improper ways in their case. Maybe when I passdd you the pipe you forgot to make that point. Miami was wrong from the start and the ncaa who is the governing body was even more wrong for what they did and they shouldn't be allowed to give a punishment now based on how they received their information. That has been proven. And IF Miami were to win their case, imo, a number of football powers would look at the ncaa differently and form their own body without the ncaa. All of this has been discussed by many analysts and is a realistic option in the future. Thats all I'm saying

The NCAA choking itself to death with the issues from the Miami investigation and opening up the gates to more schools possibly bringing them down is one thing; I don't think there's any doubt that is becoming a real possibility. However, the idea of a "better" governing system replacing it is nothing short of laughable.

ummm hello, Cryami's boosters were paying for pregnant strippers to get ABORTIONS.

What the NCAA did kind of pales in comparison, not that I made the comparison to begin with, you did. Learn to read next time.

Even if the NCAA used improper means to investigate and loses much of their case against Miami, it doesn't spell the end of the NCAA or a pull out of some college football powers.
That is a huge leap.

The NCAA is like the Catholic church, they can screw up time after time but the institution is just too big and ingrained to come crashing down because of scandal. And people will support a "moral authority" in college athletics at all costs.

Maybe not this scandal but they can and, most likely, will come crashing down.

Think of Office Space and two University Presidents named Bob asking the NCAA "what is it you say you do here?"

One the mega conference realignment happens the University Presidents will no longer need the guy with "people skills."

Bingo!
The miami case is just the start. If the super conferences come to fruition, the ncaa will lose a lot of its power, and more than likely could be replaced

Re: Shapiro has said he provided dozens of Miami athletes, coaches and recruits with benefits from 2002 through 2010. The AP reported last month that the NCAA, in the notice of allegations, said Shapiro was responsible for providing about $170,000 in impermissible benefits ranging to diamond-studded dog tags to used washing machines to fast-food meals.

Entire article:http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ap-sou...QDBHBzdGNhdANuY2FhZgRwdANzZWN0aW9ucw--;_ylv=3

I never would guess that a recruit could be lured to sign with a specific school by getting a used washing machine.

:slappy::slappy::slappy:

Also, the article says that Miami's hearing with the NCAA Committee on Infractions is scheduled to begin June 14.
