I agree we will have to play an A+ game to win....that's what I hope to see...I agree with you on your front 7 against the run... but again have questions about your LB's in coverage... speaking of the Phins just picked up bobby carpenter...to use as a coverage LB in the nickel package... did he suck against the run at OSU, because the nick name he has in the pro's is Bambi.. from shying away from contact.... not what i think our given your lb tradition

He wasn't a first round pick because of his lack of physicality and run stopping-ability. He was fantastic at OSU.

well he was brought in specifically as a coverage back.. Edds from Iowa was drafted for this, but he is done for the year... so I hope he can cover...

back to the game...I am hoping on D we play a lot of man with a crowded box and a lot of blitzing... don't want to see Pryor get real comfortable back their... I think our CB's can blanket your WR's...

Look at their highlights of last week. A lot of their TD's were due to the defense being horribly out of position. (Their first TD, no one was covering the WR at all)

Also their O-line barely kept containment for Harris. I'd like to think our D-line is better than FAMU.

Obviously, we need to make sure that the special teams issues are a rarity.

YouTube - Miami Hurricane highlights vs Florida A&M

For a Miami fan, that might be pornography. But to a college football fan, I wanted to gouge my eyes out. Florida A&M is not good at football.

i will be here....if we lose to u I will tip my hat...may the best team win...

only thing I will say about the Fiesta Bowl...yes the call sucked... the actual call and the way it was called, with the delay etc....but that is not why we lost the game....we gave up 31 points....end of discussion....

the biggest advantage I see right now for you guys is Tressel is a solid coach and Randy , well he has made some questionable moves during the game at times...but don't underestimate our OC.. he will attack your D very creatively... this is not the offense or play calling you think of when playing the U....

Carpenter was excellent at OSU. He was used primarily as a SLB and put his hand down on passing downs. Drafting him to play ILB was a mistake. Some guys just don't succeed in the league. ginn had very sure hands in college but forgot how to catch in through pros. For him it is as mental as anything, and I think the same is somewhat true for bobby.

As for manning up, OSU has leaned on 3 WR sets for the last decade, often using it as their main formation. Because of Duron's departure to a juco, they lack that third WR they usually lean on in the passing game (03 Holmes, 04-05 Gonzalez, 06 Robiskie, 07 Sanzenbacher, 08 Posey, 09 Duron).

As a result, they are leaning on Saine (power back with great speed), Stoneburner (4.4 WR in HS at 220 lbs), and FB Boren (blue collar guy with great hands) to fill that void. The first 2 are very difficult matchups, defenses have to choose whether to give up size or speed to cover them. The latter is more of a safety valve the defense loses track of.
