Let's see...

TP running for over 100 yards (especially on a day when the RBs struggled a bit)? Check.

TP throwing for over 230 yards? Check.

TP throwing for a TD? Check.

TP running for a TD? Check.

TP committing zero turnovers? Check.

TP leading us to a win over a top 15 team? Check.

You saying that his "performance could improve substantially?" FAIL.

Chill.

Yes, he did show flashes of brilliance as a leader but he was pretty inconsistant as a QB. He only completed 12 passes the entire game with a lackluster .33% on 3rd downs. His passes we were hot-n-cold, he was still throwing behind the recievers at times, and struggled in the short yard game. His deep balls were nice (as always), but the kid still has some growing to do as a QB.

He reminds me of Krenzel in 03. Krenzel had no problem putting his body on the line and rushing into coverage for the first asfter a broken play. In the 02 Championship game, Krenzel had only 7 completions, .33% on third down, but led the team in rushing - oh and by the way they both were Juniors during their game. These stats are eerily similiar to Pryors against Miami. The two are just born leaders, plain and simple.

I think if Pryor can calm his nerves in big games and just get into what TS referred to as being a big game "baller", he will improve to be a great passer. His mechanics are there now, he has the confidence and composure, its just putting everything together thats the issue.

He did have a fantastic game on a big stage though, hats off to him.

Typical position from you. Did you see the game? If you did then you saw all the stats you posted, which were awesome. What yu also saw were 2 picks dropped by Miami (some would argue 3), a couple throws in the dirt and a completion pct below 50%. If you cannot see the considerable room for improvement, then you aren't unbiased enough to have a discussion with. Pryor did an outstanding job of shucking off linemen and tearing off yards on the ground, but his passing was not close to the best he can do. It must improve if we want to win the BCS.

TP forcing not one but two throws jumped on by Miami DBs who would've had pick-6s had they caught the ball? Check.

TP throwing short passes like my mom? Check.

Calling out someone making valid points about Pryor's game? FAIL.

Pryor has improved substantially, but still needs continued improvement in his short passing and his occasional tendency to regress to his prior behavior when pressured.

You need to take off your blinders. Nobody's saying he played poorly, but if you don't see room for improvement after he missed several short throws and had a couple of interceptions dropped, I don't know what to tell you because you're just not willing to see the bad. I think TP himself would be the first to tell you he needs to improve some things.

Right back at ya.

I was there. Did you watch it?

Yep, I agree.

Did he go 27-27? No, but let me know one QB on Saturday who did. He wasn't perfect, but he was pretty [censored] good on Saturday. He put his team on his back for most of the game, whether it was making back-to-back phenomenal throws in the first half when we were down 10-3 on a two play drive to tie the game, or getting some much-needed first downs in the second half when our running game was stalling. For gator to critique his running on Saturday was, IMO, incredibly ill-informed.

If you cannot see the considerable room for improvement, then you aren't unbiased enough to have a discussion with.

Room for improvement? Sure. "Considerable?" I guess I don't agree. And I certainly don't agree to the extent of the post with which I originally took issue.

You're missing the point. Go back and re-read the original post with which I took issue. It criticized Pryor's running as much as his passing. Then again, if you only want to cherry pick certain portions of my post and take issue with them, then maybe you're the one who isn't unbiased enough to have a discussion with, huh?

Quote from the canes board which I thought was impressive...

The way OSU played, the treatment of their fans, and most importantly the class of Tressel has now quelled my hatred of them. They agree to play tough teams in home and homes every single season (Texas, USC, now us). Their HC doesn't clamour for TV time, doesn't sell his soul for recruits, and doesn't run the score up once a team is beaten. They have relatively few problem kids (actually, none that I can recall recently). Terrell Prior doesn't fancy himself jesus. If the Canes can't play for the NC, I hope the Bucks do, and I hope they win.

I wish Randy would spend a summer following Tressel around, b/c with our talent and NFL help we should be much much better.

TP's yards on the ground were great, but he isn't a physical runner much of the time. That's OK. I'm certainly OK with that. I don't expect him to run like the Auburn QB does (or Tebow did). Others might disagree and wish he was just a bit more physical. I'm OK if that's their assessment.

Meanwhile, you rattled off a ton of great stats and essentially stated that anyone suggesting it wasn't a stellar performance doesn't know what they are talking about.

TP, is still the juice that made the engine hum this weekend - I know that - we all know that. so it's not as if I think his performance was terrible. But I can make an honest assessment and realize that it can and must get better to take this team where it needs to go. You act like Gator or anyone else sizing up his strengths and weaknesses is making a personal attack on him. That's misplaced. Chill.
