Game Thread Miami (FL) at tOSU, Sat Sep 11, 3:40 ET, ESPN

Our Offense and Defense are both getting the job done!

I think the offense has done good but had the oppertunity to do much better. The score could easily be in the 30's for us. Its just alittle scary to see the execution sputtering like it has been. Hope they pull it together more in the second half. Kudos to defense

Second half adjustments are coming. I expect more of a run first offense. Hopefully we see more of Herron as well. He's been running the ball really well, and he's a one cut back that fits this Miami D well. Take the ball cut and run forward.

Great game, but horrible special teams.

Time to tell the big guys to man up and RUN the ball more.
Need at least another TD first. Can't pucker up and grind clock when Miami can score in :08 if OSU has to punt.

At this point, I'd be happy to kick everything out of bounds. Even kickoffs.

Miami's only manufactured scoring drive was 7 plays for 19 yards, aided by officials that don't call Cam getting undressed.

first and goal from the six....do they not have any confidence in the power I?? Bunch of roll out passing

It's funny that the repeated runs from the power-I is what they've done for years and everyone grumbles that those don't work, either.

The game has been entertaining to say the least.

My beer-addled brain has just reviewed the 1st half and I think to myself.. what just happened? but oh hey look at least tOSU is up by 9 and Miami has had little to no offense to show.

2nd half adjustments coming. Who does it better?

My point exactly.

Miami's "drives"

04:34 1 02:21 MIA 6 5 31 Punt
00:03 1 01:58 MIA 47 7 19 Field Goal Good
12:23 2 02:19 MIA 25 4 4 Punt
07:03 2 00:13 MIA 21 1 0 Interception
06:17 2 01:32 MIA 38 6 34 Field Goal Missed
03:04 2 00:00 MIA 21 0 79 Punt Return Touchdown
01:01 2 00:12 MIA 33 1 0 Interception

3 INTs, 2 on two 1-play drives. A 19 yard drive for a FG, a 34 yard drive for a missed FG, two drives where they got one first down before punting, and two kick returns.

its alittle different when your in the middle of the field as to when your at first and goal....
Even if it only gets you a yard or two, your at first and goal with 6 yards to go.

Actually that rollout would have worked but pryor made the wrong choice in passing, so i'll shut up lol

Does anyone know the time of possession for the first half?

:osu:

18:31 to 11:29

My thoughts on the first half:

Special teams play is inexcusably awful. There's no reason why a team as talented as this OSU team should have to squib on kickoffs.

Points are points, but we need to punch these in when we get that close to the endzone.

Pryor is up and down. He's been lucky with some dropped picks/bad decisions. But he's made some clutch throws and runs too, so that can't be ignored.

Running game is fine unless Brandon Saine is in the game.

Defense is awesome, secondary has been beat a few times which is a big red flag. Can't expect them to miss their deep routes all game. But the turnovers have been clutch and are the difference in the score.

If we don't give up any special teams TDs this quarter, I like our chances. We're winning by two scores at the half, at home, against a top 15 team. And we have lots of room to improve.. I'd be surprised if we were as bad on offense in the second half.

GO BUCKS
