I agree, I think a lot of people are counting on Eric Gordon being a top 5 pick

Gordon is a talent for sure, but I see a very underachieving team. It has been around 10 years since Indiana has started the season in the top 10......wow.

Another suprise for me is Duke and Marquette.

North Carolina is No. 1 in a preseason Top 25 featuring 6 Pac-10 teams

North Carolina is back in its familiar preseason spot -- No. 25. Kansas State is making a rare appearance in the Top 25 rankings. For the sixth time since The Associated Press started a preseason college basketball poll in 1961, the Tar Heels were ranked No. 1 Friday. They beat out UCLA and Memphis in a three-way race for the top spot.

Thats the thing about Vegas betting odds. They are set by determining what odds will get the greatest number of bets on both sides of the line/spread(not who they think will win or what they are ranked).The bookies in the cayman islands start the odds off and get a feel for the betting within the first hour and make necessary adjustments to their lines/spreads. Vegas then makes their initial odds for the day and gets initial feedback within the first hour or so and continuous monitors the Caymans and the offshore gambling to finally come to odds that again receive equal bets on both sides)

Question: Does anyone know if an unranked team at the beginning of the season has ever went on to win the NCAA Tournament?

Though Ohio State convincingly beat Florida the Bucks do not receive even one vote in the newest AP poll (as of 12/24) where Florida still has 13. In other news, Rhode Island makes its first ever appearance in the AP Poll at 25:

The fact that Florida is receiving votes for a spot in the top 25 but Ohio State isn't doesn't make much sense to me.

The good thing about college basketball is that it doesn't really matter because there's a playoffs.

I think that's an understatement. In fact, I'm surprised Syracuse didn't get some votes.

After watching Memphis play Georgetown, I wouldn't be surprised if they went undefeated this season with what they have in front of them.

The Bucks will have to put together some convincing offensive performances before they will get any real votes. Win at Illinois and I think you'll see them near the top 25.

Interesting that Dayton is 28th in the AP

Ohio State's record is 8-3. Even though the three losses were against ranked teams (UNC, Texas A&M, and Butler); three losses just dosen't get you ranked at this point in the season.
