USC is 8-3 and ranked 24th:

Losses against Memphis and Kansas, are better losses than Ohio State has, but they also lost to Mercer...and that is pretty crappy. So...for them to be 24th, and Ohio State to get no votes at all, doesn't quite make sense.

According to the RPI, Ohio State's SOS is much higher than USC's. USC's is 53rd, and OSU's is 21st.

Gonzaga is also has three losses (9-3, ranked #26 in coaches, #27 in AP), losing to Texas Tech, Washington State, and Oklahoma. You would think we'd at least get a vote or two, seeing as our losses have come to the #1/#1, #11/14, and #16/17 teams.

UD plays Pitt tomorrow at home. This is probably the biggest home game at UD since they beat 8th ranked Marquette with D-Wade a few years ago.

A W against Pitt would definitely vault UD into the top 25. I will be at the game. It should be a great atmosphere.

That surprises me a bit. They had a pretty good team several years back under Jim Harrick with Lamar Odom leading the way.

I think that this team is just not on the national radar right now. With the only "big" wins being over talented but young Syracuse (no votes) and Florida teams, a lot of voters may not really have much of an idea how good this team is or isn't. Honestly, a lot of US don't know how good this team is or isn't.

Another problem is that the Big Ten isn't getting a lot of respect in general, outside of Indiana and Michigan State. Wisconsin is scraping along with a handful of votes, and that's about it.

If the Bucks start off the conference schedule strong, I'd expect to see some of the B10 coaches and media voters show some love. With four straight wins going into the game at Sparty on the 15th, they'll be knocking on the door of the Top 25. A win there will have them solidly ranked and back in the spotlight.

Keep in mind also that it takes a lot more to get into the Top 25 when you didn't start there in anyone's pre-season polls.

Definitely a big win not only for the Badgers, but for the whole conference. Real Time RPI has jumped them all the way to 15 (Ohio State is 21st).

Looking ahead, we've got quite a few big games remaining -- MSU twice, IU twice, Wisconsin twice and Tennessee. That's 7 of 19 games against opponents who will probably be ranked in AP/Coaches. It should be a fun ride.

I was also wondering exactly this and to make it worse we are only receiving 2 votes in the AP poll which has more voters. I know we are all biased here but tOSU is ranked in the top 20 of every credible RPI poll around which is the only poll that really matters but the Bucks deserve a little respect from the coaches and the writers.

Seems to me that we are not only, not getting more votes, but actually losing votes. We're getting passed by some teams in the voting. The overall scheme of things the rankings don't matter that much in season but the tourney seedings are affected by where some teams rank in the polls. It could mean the difference in a 5 seed or an 8 or 9 seed in the tourney.

Of course thats a long way off but I'd like to see us get a little more votes and at least stay stable in the polls not drop.
