Men's Basketball Polls (AP, USA Today)

We have our chances to get in there with our upcoming 3 games...

But let me throw out a conspiracy theory on why we arent up there...The only games that have been on national tv have been the Cuse' game, 3 spankings we took from top 25 teams and then recently a game against Ill. who is falling off the map right now...

So I think the big ten network is hurting us in terms of us not getting recognition because not many are getting to see our games...

That's a very good point. We have our chance to prove what kind of a team we are in the next three games. I'm eager to see how we do.

I think that's spot on. Another reason is the national view of tOSU IMO. Many very incorrectly view us as over rated in all sports because of the outcome of a few national championship contests. We won't be underestimated in the Big Ten though, or by Tenn. based on last years outcomes, so the guys need to step it up. The next few weeks are huge.!

When the Big Ten Network came into being, I said that it would hurt us very badly. The media will do everything they can the next five years to run down the Big Ten, if they think it will cause the BTN to fail.

As for a ranking, we don't deserve one. Our RPI is higher due to schedule strength rather than performance. Win our next five games and we'll be in the Top 25. Personally, I'd like to see the Buckeyes sneak up on some people for a little while longer.

At Tennessee gives us a chance at what we need, a signature win. If you look at Wisky and their schedule that is the only thing they have on us. With the exception of the win at Texas we have played and beaten a stronger schedule and handled common opponents better. All things will take care of themselves if we handle our bussiness. My only question remains from my original post, how in the hell is a 10-5 Arizona team that lost twice in the last week still ranked in the new coaches poll from Jan. 11 with 22 more points than tOSU? Or ranked ahead of many other teams for that matter?

Can someone please explain to me how a 9-10 Cincinnati team and a 14-7 Cleveland State team (that we beat in Cleveland by 18) both have AP votes and the Buckeyes do not?
1. Parity (money)
2. Money
3. The AP hates tOSU (money)
4. I like naked women with Boobs

We win our next 3 which we should...

@ Iowa
@ PSU
vs Michigan

Then we have the big game against IU and if we beat them, then we should start to get some love...

I have no problem staying under the radar, till late in the season and then we go on a hot streak and people take notice...

The Buckeyes do not deserve Top-25 consideration. The fact there is some dipweed in the media who votes for other undeserving teams does not alter that simple fact.

Consideration? Maybe. OSU has been hanging around in the RPI top 25 for a while now.

However, the lack of a single win over a ranked team is still what's keeping them from getting any votes. Without a win over MSU, Wisky or IU, that's probably not going to change. You need a big win to get people's attention.

Purdue got a little love this week after a win against Wisky...

How this resume gets you any love and anywhere near the top 25 let alone in the top 25 is so far beyond me...They have an RPI of 42The only team they have played with a winning record in conference is Kentucky and they are 9-9 on the season...

OOC teams they have played with winning records High Point (10-9), GA Southern (13-7), Jacksonville (10-9), Vermont (10-9), North Dakota St (10-9)...

Two teams that have a combined 2 wins with NC Central and North Florida...

Lost to the only two OOC schools that were worth anything FSU (13-7-11th in ACC), tOSU (14-6 - 5th in big ten)...

The only good win I see on their schedule is Vandy and they have been exposed once starting SEC play...

North Dakota State W 75-65
NC Central W 93-65
Rutgers W 88-63
North Florida W 102-51
Florida St L 51-65
Stetson W 71-48
Vermont W 86-61
Jacksonville W 88-72
FAMU W 91-52
Ga Southern W 52-49
Charleston S. W 89-64
@ tOSU L 49-62
Temple W 86-69
High Point W 88-70
@ Bama W 90-83
Auburn W 72-56
@ Mississippi L 87-89
Kentucky 81-70
@ South Carolina W 73-71
Vandy W 86-64

Now don't get me wrong I am all for them winning because it helps our RPI, but still.........................#18 in the top 25...PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
