Masoli and other Ducks' legal issues

I hold these fine student athletes blameless and absolutely innocent of any harmful behavior.
Police should focus their attention to the true, underlying causes of this theft!
The Rose Bowl and Citibank must be held accountable for the gifts they gave the Oregon team after playing and losing in Pasadena.
What do you expect to have happen when you give student athletes an empty "Ogio Fugitive laptop pack?"
Do authorities seriously not understand the expectations communicated by an empty laptop backpack and the entitlement transferred with "Fugitive" blazoned on the case exterior?

I remember when I actually rooted for Oregon. The fact that I don't anymore has nothing to do with their fans or the Rose Bowl. There was just something about them that I kind of liked.

Hard to root for them at this point. They're like Penn State West, only worse off the field. The talent of that program is very good, but the program is a joke. I don't see Chip Kelly honoring this suspension.

I'll be shocked if he's not reinstated before the season.

Word out here is that there's no chance. His locker has been cleaned out, and he's deciding whether he's going to even stay at the school on scholarship. He has a redshirt available (if he were to stay); but who's to say the job would be his again later.

When listening to the press conference, the emotion was that Jeremiah wouldn't be in a Duck uniform again. More than just the charge and conviction, apparently he lied to Chip. That's the mortal sin.

Am I the only one who thinks a redshirt should be revoked in a situation like this? What the hell is the university thinking by letting this kid stay on campus? He stole property from other students. I would bet a "normal" student would be shown the door.

:roll2: If all these exact same incidents happen with lesser known players, like they do at most schools, no one bats an eyelash.

ESPN Reporter.. "The harsh news" came as coach Kelly told him he was suspended for a year due to the fact he lied to coach Kelly, stating "he was not there."

So Coach... you want to keep a criminal and an lier on staff to lead your team?

Punching a player in the face, domestic violence, burglary.. I'd criticize any school for having rather serious legal issues like this in such a short amount of time. I'd criticize Ohio State if we had the same stuff going down. Luckily we don't. These are issues much more troubling than underage consumption and whatnot.

I criticized Penn State, I've criticized Florida, now I'm criticizing Oregon. They're getting into a lot of trouble. It's not my fault they're getting into trouble and doing it in a loud way.

I think that you may be leaning too much in their favor, OB. These guys have put together an impressive string of offenses. When you have guys back to back in the courtroom for different offenses, something is very wrong.

So Massoli gets suspended for the 2010 season (which means he will be back when they need him later in the year ala Blount when he was "suspended" for 2009) for stealing a couple of laptops and lying to Kelly about being there, and the courts see it fitting for community service and probation.

James gets a whopping one game suspension for allegedly beating a woman, but the courts saw fit to throw his ass in jail for 10 days.

Am I missing something here? Community service/Probation and CYA towards your coach and you get a full year (yeah right) off the team. BUT, you beat someone and get jail time, a one game suspension.

Stay classy Chip, you piece of shit.:shake:
