That sound you hear is the sound of Masoli flushing millions of dollars down a toilet.

Actually, it's probably more like thousands.

...Which is about how much two MacBook Pros cost, so it was TOTALLY WORTH IT.

FWIW, I can't see a QB with his attributes having that much money to flush away in the first place.

More like tens of thousands of dollars. Unless Josh Cribbs and Brad Smith have truly convinced the NFL that a former running QB is a major asset, rather than a project, I don't see Masoli getting that kind of dough. He may have cost himself a tryout as an undrafted free agent, and that's about all.

If Masoli has a year like he had last year, and leads Oregon to the Rose Bowl or BCS title game, I can see him getting picked early on the second day. For the season, he had a higher passer rating, completion percentage, and TD/INT ratio than another "mobile QB" who played in the Rose Bowl. Now, I'm not saying he'll end up being better than Pryor will, but if Masoli plays as well, or better, than he did last season I can see a team taking a flier on him...well, that was before this stunt.

I think you folks are missing the point about the consequences of the alleged actions by Masoli

<turn on sarcasm>

he's absolutely crazy to risk getting disciplined by Chip Kelly. I mean Kelly is unreal with his punishments. I mean the guy (Kelly) truly does exactly what he says he will do. Kelly literally does not waiver at all when it comes to dishing out punishment for transgressions and then sticking to those punishments for the duration of the season for some of his best players...which includes big bowl games.

I'll assume that by "early on the second day" that you mean under the old format. 2nd day = 4th round and later. Under the 2010 format, the 2nd day is on Friday night and consists of the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Masoli is listed at 5'11", and even before this incident, I really can't see any team taking a 4th-7th round flyer on a guy that's that short, and has a reputation as having erratic accuracy.

maybe a late 6th/7th round gamble, but not an early 2nd day pick, especially under the new definition of 2nd day.

5'11" is also a bit generous, imo.
