Desmond Howard is tool. On the Gameday season preview he picked Oregon to win the Pac 10. This isn't an outlandish pick by any stretch of the imagination. However, he stated that Costa "looked good" and will have lots of weapons at his disposal. Chris Fowler then questioned him because Costa has looked like dog vagina. Today it was announced that Thomas will start at QB.

I still think Les to scUM was a done deal until LSU backed into the title game.

Ferentz was approached. Schiano went to bed a wolverine, woke up a Scarlet Knight. That left Martin scrambling to pick up RR, who was not seriously on his radar before that week.

Les would have cut off his arm to coach at UM, and like Bo he could have agreed to stay on through the bowl game.

Most of Ann Arbor wanted Les (ignorant to which coach actually built that team) because he was a "Michigan Man" on top of CFB, but Bill Martin wanted no part of it.

Les Miles' camp was calling desperately all weekend as LSU was pushing him hard to resign a new contract. Martin didn't care how much Howard and the rest of the alumni & search committee wanted Les, he wasn't hiring a coach with Les' baggage re: UM.

Not guessing.

He was doing OK for the first half of that show. Then he said that tOSU only had two tough games, Miami and at Iowa. Herbie said "At Wisconsin isn't tough?", so Desmond replies that Wiscy has to prove they can beat tOSU. Um, Des, Wiscy and PSU are the only teams to have 3 wins over JT's Buckeye teams (to be fair, those were all under Alvarez).

But then at the end of the show, Desmond picks Wiscy to win the Big Ten, proving that he is simply an idiot for not including at-Wiscy as a tough game for tOSU.

He'll prolly pick OSU to beat Miami (FL) even though he picked Miami (FL) to be in the title game.
