Ohio State and Marshall will battle at noon on Sept. 21.
The Big Ten announced Monday that the Week 4 battle between the Buckeyes and Thundering Herd will be a Big Noon Kickoff game on FOX. It will be Ohio State's first noon game of the season following 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. starts against Akron and Western Michigan.
Ohio State will enter the Marshall game coming off its first of two bye weeks this season. The team's second off week is scheduled for Oct. 19 after its much-anticipated trip to Eugene, Oregon, to battle the Ducks.
The Buckeyes hold a 2-0 record over the Thundering Herd all-time, including a 24-21 win in Columbus on Sept. 11, 2004, and a 45-7 win in Columbus on Sept. 2, 2010. The NCAA later vacated the second win following the events of "Tattoogate," an incident that resulted in five Ohio State players — Terrelle Pryor, DeVier Posey, Dan "Boom" Herron, Mike Adams and Solomon Thomas — receiving punishment for selling personal memorabilia in exchange for tattoos, a violation of NCAA rules.

Yay, my preferred home game start time; so here's my "happy dance":

Just looked at how brutal the stretch is after this: @Sparty, @Oregon and @pedsters with home games against the Corn twins, both of whom are much improved. If we don't have a slip up in this stretch, it'll really say something about the coaching.
Yeah, this schedule is actually a lot more tough than it first appeared. After Iowa lost to Iowa State. I no longer am worried but you know Iowa is going to give us a test test when we are on offense.

Sparty has a better offense but I’m not buying them either. I’m glad we have a bye after Oregon though because Nebraska is going to come into our game undefeated so it’ll give our team a chance to heal up and get ready again after three tougher games.

Ultimately though I don’t see how any of these teams scores enough points vs this defense. Sparty couldn’t score 20 vs FAU, Iowa couldn’t score 20 at home vs ISU, and Oregon couldn’t crack 24 vs Idaho. Then you have Nebraska who I think is going to roll into Columbus a fringe top 10 team who couldn’t get more than 21 vs a Colorado defense that’s terrible.

The biggest test is at Penn State. They have the fuckery on offense to luck into 28 points I think but I do not believe in their defense lead by Tom Allen.

Back to Marshall- should be a better matchup for us. The goal is the same as the first two weeks. Start fast, get up big, and get the starters out.

Just sayin': Apparently Marshall a pretty good receiver (vs Va Tech just last Saturday):

...
Absolutely a great catch

Marshall's Passing Efficiency last Saturday, including that catch:

70.29

And that's against a Virginia Tech defense that was shredded by Vanderbilt. The Commodores had a higher PE vs Va Tech than they did against the FCS school they played, which would suggest that Va Tech's pass defense is terrible. And Marshall threw for a PE of less than 75.

Woof

While Marshall may appear to have a decent running game (6.55 yards per carry, ranked 9 places higher than the Buckeyes nationally), most of that is because their running back A.J. Turner popped a 69 yard run against the Hokies and an 80 yarder against Stony Brook. I like the Buckeyes chances of preventing the big plays and keeping Turner bottled up.

I would set the odds of Ohio State continuing to hold opponents out of the red zone through this game at even money.
