Mark May (Blew 5 guys at Pitt)

I just love the way that Reece and Lou laugh at Mark at some of his comments. Mark just looks at them really irritated. I laugh every time.

O, and no Mark we are not laughing with you. (even though you arent laughing)

Yeah, after last season Lou is done putting up with Mark's [censored]. I fully expect May to take a swing at the old guy sometime before the bowls. Hopefully this will result in his ass being canned and the world gaining one more idiot not qualified to be a janitor.

fify

Bout dinged you for degrading Janitors everywhere, that moron May would just be another unemployable dip-[censored] on the public dole (what lovely sentiment )

Comparison of who has the edge in Running Backs in the OSU/USC matchup....

Mark May says its not even close choosing USC. Then he goes on to talk about USC's OLine. This guy is a straight up tard.

LOU HOLTZ comment about Mark May...."it sounds like you just had one date with one girl and you're ready to get married, I've never seen anyone get so infatuated about one game." :slappy:

I'm becoming a Hotcshzz fan as long as he doesn't talk about ND

I thought it wass funny when he compared the QB's. Holtz busts out "IT WAS VIRGINIA!!!!" I mean c'mon givin Sanchez the nod over a man who took over a team in a "rebuilding"year and led them to a National Championship appearence. Boeckman has proven he has the skills. He may not be all flashy and such but I seem to remember a molecular genetisist guy we had a few years back that wassnt all flash and seemed to do pretty well :-) I really don't think Mark even watches the game. Just because you played it doesn't make you an expert on it.

I think it might have been yesterday's College Football (something or other, it's an hour long show on the NFL network), but there was a really nice film breakdown of Sanchez from the VA game. I don't recall who did the breakdown (Mike Mayock?), but he pointed out a slew of flaws with Sanchez. Poor timing, poor footwork, poor accuracy, poor reads...listening to Mayock, you'd have thought Sanchez played the worst game ever. The point he was making is that Sanchez got away with some really questionable stuff because 1) he has a ton of talent around him and 2) UVA stinks. He seemed to think thatSanchez was the biggest liability USC had going into the game.

(I don't know why this is in the Mark May thread, other than to point out that Mark May can't do film study)

You're saying Boeckman is a better QB than Sanchez? I love Boeckman as much as the next non-bucknuts member, but give credit where it's due. Sanchez is an excellent QB.

I tend to agree with Holtzch on this one. Todd has a full season Sanchez has three games with a lot of passes prior to this year, and only one of those teams had a winning record (Oregon who won 24-17) I'm not about to crown him better after beating a Virginia team that's going to be lucky to win one of their next three games (Uconn, Duke, Maybe they have a shot against Maryland). I know Sanchez is supposed to have rare gifts, but so was the Pickle and that one hasn't been so hot yet either.

I don't know I'm not sold on how good USC QBs really are. I mean yeah they're all in the pros, but Petey throws deep and often, you will stack up stats like crazy in that atmosphere. You earn stats at OSU

Boeckman Stats
2007: 191/299, 2379 Yards, 25 TDs, 14 INTs
2008: 30/45 297 Yards, 2 TDs, 0 INTs
Total: 221/344, 2676 Yards, 27 TDs, 14 INTs

Sanchez Stats
2007: 69/114, 695 Yards, 7 TDs, 5 INTs
2008: 26/35, 338 Yards, 3 TDs, 1 INT
Total: 95/149, 1033 Yards, 10 TD, 6 INTs

Granted, Sanchez was a backup last year and Boeckman has about 2.3x 'more stats' than him, but if you take all of Boeckman's numbers x 2.3, you get the following for Sanchez's "projected" stats....

218.5/342.7, 2375.9 Yards, 23 TDs, 13.8 INTs

Not saying Sanchez isn't a good QB, but he isn't as "great" as everyone makes him out to be and there isn't much difference between him & Boeckman when it comes to stats. I'll take Boeckman's experience any day of the week over Sanchez.

Anyway.....back to Mark 'The Tool' May

I saw that, but it seems to me that you could cherry pick a handful of plays in which almost any college QB looks bad.

Mark May on Sportscenter just said that OSU was the most overrated 2-0 team in the country. That we don't deserve to be in the top 5 or for that matter in the top 10 and we are going to get run out of the coliseum....:(

Mark May just called the Buckeyes the most overrated 2-0 team in the country and said they are going to get run out of the coliseum on Saturday. The other guy on there with him (not Lou Holtz or Reece Davis) then said "Hey you know who else was overrated? THE PITT PANTHERS!!!"
