There is a reason USC gave up fewer yards. Ohio State beat Locker to death. That was in evidence in the 2nd half, when UW couldn't get anything going after their abortive 1st drive (until garbage time). One week later they played UCLA, who took a 'cue' from the Buckeyes and beat Locker around some more.
Everyone talks about how the Trojans were banged up, starting with the Washington game; but the fact is, Locker was a meat milk-shake by the time he met the trojans (2 weeks after the Buckeyes kicked his ass).
When he met the Buckeyes, he was unbruised and unbattered. He'd never been really smacked by true D1A talent. By the time he played USC, he was a humbler and wiser puppy; but a much less physically able puppy.
