Mark May (Blew 5 guys at Pitt)

I wish JT would say this

first of all, I realize JT has too much class to do it, but I'd love it if he ever got a chance to talk with Mark May on camera.....

I'd love it if he brought up the Alamo Bowl 2004 halftime bit where May and Company called for JT's resignation due to corruption in OSU's FB program. JT ought to remind the viewers that Mark May played for Pitt and under one of the most renowned cheaters in NCAA FB history....Jackie Sherrill. I want JT to tell the audience that it's up to them if they want to believe the word of the single biggest recruit of Jackie Sherril's Pitt career isn't a liar

Token Boy was talking yesterday about the Rose Bowl and how USC's defense is "by far"--empasizing those words--the best defense that Illinois will have faced all season. Oh really, dipshit? Well, let's take a look at the fats, er facts, Pitt Puss:

Rushing defense:
OSU #3 (77.1 ypg)
USC #4 (79.2 ypg)

Passing defense:
OSU #1 (148.17 ypg)
USC #8 (179.67 ypg)

Scoring defense:
OSU #1 (10.7 ppg)
USC #3 (15.9 ppg)

Total defense:
OSU #1 (225.25 ypg)
USC #2 (258.83 ypg)

Hmmmm...seems to me that Ohio State has USC beat in every major category, including the one that matters most: scoring. Ohio State gave up 20+ points one time all year, while USC did so five times...

"By far" means different things to different people, I guess. :slappy:

I saw the same thing Mili, the douchbag emphasized USC's speed as well.

I hate to say it though, after seeing the dominating performances the other Pac 10 teams have made in the bowls so far it is obvious that USC has played much better teams than tOSU, so their defensive numbers are probably skewed.

Erroneous.

So JT DOES know about Mark May?

Tress gets the boys fired up (Blogging the Buckeyes)

Jim Tressel doesn't like to admit he uses the revenge factor as motivation, but he's not above using it, big-time, for the national championship game.

When the players went home for a week off on Dec. 19, every one of them was given a DVD containing multiple clips of announcers from ESPN or Fox or wherever, blasting OSU and giving the Buckeyes no chance of beating LSU. Mark May of ESPN was featured prominently.

Supposedly (I have not seen the DVD), it's very compelling stuff....clip after clip after clip of people just destroying OSU. It's the kind of tape that is designed to get your blood boiling, and Tressel reportedly told his players to watch it every single day until the game.

Actually, statistically USC did way better against UW...only gave up 190 yards total against our giving up 346 yards, but we gave up only 14 offensive points while USC gave up 17 offensive points.

I remember when they were giving their picks of all 32 bowls and he had our game as #30 in confidence (i.e., he was more confident in only two other games). When asked how confident he was, he had that punk-assed smirk on his face and said, "Verrrrrrry confident". Fuck you, Gay May...

I often wonder how much weight the team actually puts into this stuff. Or, if I am just a biased buckeye fan who's getting all bent out of shape about trite issues. Its nice to see they're human too. I hope Mark May eats his words 1/7, although, as many have pointed out, he/espn will probably just come up with more excuses and radical claims to discredit it. Oh well, its what they get paid to do, speculate, and we keep watching, so its working. Bastards.
